With a plot that seems lifted directly from an RPG Maker site's Game & Demo section, Black Sigil doesn't sound that great. And the graphical style looks a lot like charset and chipset edits from Chrono Trigger. Even the battle animations look just like CT's. But damnit I like oldschool RPGs.

Because of my sickening love for Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI, I will probably pick this up on May 19th.
Anyone else heard of it, or is interested in it?

I'll be sure to give this a look.
I remember the creator of this game saying his story is better the Final Fantasy VI. Love the graphics though. But I don't have a DS so I can't play this, was actually looking forward to this back when I had a GBA and it was still heading for that platform.

I've been lookin' into this game for some time, and it turns out the creators who made this are freaking Canadians. The Japanese didn't make this... FREAKING CANADIANS MAN!!
They were a small group of people who really wanted to make a game, we could all learn a thing from these people. :D

I think those mountain tiles are from FF6, but with better grass.

Also, the combat looks really slow. CT was about the same speed with the same length animations, but... this probably is most likely NOT CT.

Yeah, I was amazed to find out that this was made in the west. I didn't know it was coming out so soon, though! Everything said, I think it looks kinda nice, so I'll probably get it.
It looks like it genuinely has the feel of an amateur/indie/RM/whatever game... but in an endearing way. The same reason I bought Astonishia Story. You feel like you're doing them a favour. Looking forward to it, though!

Is there anyone in this community who can go five minutes without making something personal? I'm not saying I can, but jeesus.
Slightly more detail:
My post was based entirely on the wikipedia article, which has a bunch of unflattering text and a single v. unflattering screenshot. Based on that, the graphics of this game look very unimpressive and the story looks extremely rudimentary, stupid, and vaguely insulting to one's intelligence.
I just viewed the vid, which is much prettier and seems less retarded. My main issue of the game is its EXTREME derivativeness on just about every level.
