PUNCH OUT!! - FOR THE WII

So it's out and better than ever. I'm playing it right not!

They did alot of new, cool things with it...

There only three circuits, cutting down from Super Punch Out's 4. I won't give away any of the fighters, but most of them you've already seen. Gameplay is, without a doubt, exactly the same as in the original Punch Out; no joke. Good thing too, I immediately switched the control scheme back to the classic NES controls (holding you wii remote sideways). There aren't really any cutscenes, but they improved the training montage Little Mac goes through after each circuit; it looks much better.

Oh! And even after you defeat all the boxers, you can fight them over again in a mode called "Title Defense". All of the boxers are souped up and more difficult to defeat than last time. Even after "Title Defense" there's a mode called "Mac's Last Stand"; I'm not sure what it is exactly, I've yet to unlock it.

There's also a special boxer you can fight in "Mac's Last Stand"; I won't give it away, but he's gonna surprise you!

So...is anyone else playing this? What are your thoughts?
It's not released in Japan, nor is there a release date in sight.

I'm pissed.
I wasn't interested in this game at first because I felt it looked plain, but now I'm more interested.. Still, I'm hesitant because I never beat the original Punch-Out!! because I was so bad at it :-\.
Luckily, this version is a little easier than the one for NES. Sure, it gets pretty hard in the world circuit, but not as hard as it was on the NES' Punch Out.

Also, if you lose against an opponent, you can go to exhibition mode and practice fight the current boxer you're stuck on. Cool thing is, you don't get tired or take damage in practice mode!
I absolutely loved the NES game but as this game is on the Wii, it loses a lot of attraction for me personally. I'll be sure to get it once it's price drops but for the moment I'd rather play more of the original.
I thought the controls would be like Wii Sports boxing...

What about it causes you to lose attraction toward it? I'd like to know.

Luckily, no. The motion controls are optional and are easy to use/learn than the Wii Sports Boxing (which, I'm sure we all know, was terrible -_-"). I usually play with the Wii Remote turned on it's side (NES style, FTW!)
I think there are three control systems and that includes the nunchuck method Wii Sport uses.

@Mitsuhide: Yeah well it's nothing against the game but the system itself (annoying white colour against everything that's black, lack of games not made by Nintendo, poor controllers for classic gaming etc). I guess it is a personal issue.

I've read a couple of reviews on the game and it seems a game worth buying and you obviously like it so I'll definitely get it if I can overcome the hump I have with the Wii.
I should find that link to the Wii accessory unit that allows you to plug in any of the old Nintendo controllers into the Wii (the NES, SNES and N64 controllers).

Ok I'm buying that and a Wii.

That's fine. I'm not blaming you for hating the Wii, their lack of good games upsets me as well. Punch Out is a good game though, so if you ever get over your negativity towards the system, you should check this game out :)

One thing about the game though (that still holds true to the NES version) is that it's managed to piss me off to the point where I wanted to start punching things! This is in the world circuit of Title Defense mode; it just gets way too f*cking hard!
