SPATE OF CELEBRITY DEATHS (MICHAEL JACKSON)
Posts
So, Farrah Fawcett passes away at 62, and there are reports of Michael Jackson in hospital from a heart attack. I haven't seen any reports confirming he's dead, but...
Anywho, in an effort from this spilling over in another thread, I'll start this one.

Michael Jackson is quite dead.
Michael Jackson is quite dead.

We've just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50.
Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.
A source tells us Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived.
Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but he was completely unresponsive.
We're told one of the staff members at Jackson's home called 911.
La Toya ran in the hospital sobbing after Jackson was pronounced dead.
Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.
Story developing...
TWZ are pretty reliable and so I'm concluding that he is dead. Personally I don't feel strongly for either person as much as I hear someone close to me has passed away. Celebrities are not immortal, maybe in people's hearts but it doesn't make me jump for joy when a death is announced.
Some news sources are saying he's dead, others are saying he's in a coma...
The old folks will tell you that death/bad news always comes in 3's...Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and soon to be Michael...
Edit: Now more are saying that he's dead.

That's just unlikely, I'm sure more than 3 people died between each of those celebs.
We're not discussing the deaths of nobodies.

Micheal Jackson is quite literally the most successful entertainer ever. Him dying means something.

Did I say that? I was merely pointing out the rule of three is highly debatable. MJ's death would rock the whole world especially in places where he's worshipped like a God e.g SE Asia.
No, I wasn't responding to that. I just wanted to counter the 'heh...i don't see why this is so important' mentality I'm already starting to see.
Also my Facebook news feed is going CRAZY. I still can't believe this. Micheal Jackson!?

It's all over the news now, not just TMZ. RIP, ya quirky boy-lovin' king of pop.
This year's been crazy.
Farrah, Ed McMahon... now MJ. Crazy world.
Oh let's not forget Carradine.

Cardiac arrest is almost %100 fatal. Your heart literally dies on the spot. People tend to confuse cardiac arrest with a heart attack. Dude is dead, dead, dead... :'(
Would it be inappropriate to play "Thriller" right now?
And yes, his show is postponed, but his corpse will perform next week anyway.

A lot of people I know are actually changing their facebook/forum avatars/twitter and playing Thriller as a form of tribute.
I grew up in a heavy MJ music playing household so I might give it a spin as well.
Good night, sweet prince. He might have been a pasty plastic pedophile in recent years, but he was arguably one of the most influential musicians of all time.
