Has some really kickin music. Also it is directed by the same dude that wrote FF4 and directed the DS remake.

Great now I have actual reason to avoid this game (found the final dungeon in FFIV DS way too hard)
I don't know. It looks alright. I just don't really like Final Fantasy anymore. They just don't appeal to me like they used to.

Wait...if you are keen on graphics, why are you playing a handheld?
in lieu of oto coming along I am going to say SHAZAM
post=85481good idea let's encourage horrible standards

It's completely relevant and not dumb at all. Fancy graphics get enough focus on their own from developers - we needn't encourage anything in that department. We ought to be more concerned with gameplay.

Cast stop on those giant heads
Blink your party and only attack Behemoths (or if you don'thave omnicast just blink somebody like Kain and have him jump or run away because the fight will take forever)
Cast berserk on Red Dragons to prevent them from using Atomic Ray. They stil hit hard so cast Blink on Cecil (assuming he has Draw Attack and Counter) and slow if you get the chance.
The bottom enemies I think can be stopped or just do the Red Dragon strategy on them to shut them down
New scans reveal that there is a job system in this game called the "Crown System". You equip different crowns to change the character class. There are approximately 20 or so crowns.
For the ability system, you have a "grid" where you place certain pieces that represent different abilities. Each ability is a differently shaped piece. You can equip as many abilities as you can fit into your grid. Pieces can be of differing size.
AKA, play Tetris to set your job abilities.
AKA AKA, sounds awesome.

That reminds me of the Navi Customizer from the Megaman Battle Network series.
And that's just awesome.

post=85512Difference of opinion I guess. Gameplay is always important but I'd prefer 2-D over those ugly chibi things.

Also GRS that would be useful if I didn't "lose" my FFIV cartridge (for the record, yeah, the red dragons gave me the most trouble)
Well, I suppose playing Tetris to set your abilities is better than playing Tetris to manage your inventory.
I remember that from Legend of Mana, where you had to insert tetris-like skill blocks into your golem's cortex.
As for the game, I guess I'm not the target audience.

wow. I love the title. Sounds like a beginner's first post in Game & Demo.
Thankfully it looks and sounds far beyond that.
I forgot to mention that I am superpsyched that this ISN'T a remake or port. This is awesome of SE to use the engine they made (this one looks like FF4's) to make a new game.
I am sure it has some basis in the 3D engine used in FF3/FF4 DS, but this is way beyond what those did.
