American Beer is the worst Beer ever.
I've been to the US once. It was nice enough. Everything was big. And nearly every single stereotype I had was confirmed. (I was only on the eastern side. Never went further west than Ohio. So the not all the Western stereotypes were confirmed)

By gun culture, do you mean you don't like the restrictions on guns or the lack of them? People's stance on guns and the number of them differs widely depending on the area of the U.S. your in. For instance, in my area (more specifically the county I live in) during the first few months after Obama was elected, gun sales tripled and ammo sales quadrupled from what they were a few months before as everyone was stockpiling to prepare for more restrictions on guns; I doubt that that happened in many of the northern states.
Well, I guess the fact that when restrictions are tightened, people stockpile them! I know a lot of parts aren't as gun-mad, but still, when compared to a lot of other countries, the fact that a fair portion of the populace seem to have an attitude of well you've gotta have a gun is quite alien.

Because no one in Canada wants to be a citizen of the United States even though they basically are, and everyone in Mexico wants to be a citizen of the United States even though none of them are.
Don't forget about South Americans, guys. A lot of South Americans refer to themselves as Americans and don't like us US folks hogging the titles. Except when they're on vacation in Europe.

New Zealand respects America but I think it's out of some kind of deep fear that one day/Any day a super power such as US of A could topple us in a heart beat. So admiration for such a country is understandable. Plus we feel safe with the nation of guns on our side.

My perspective is that Americans place a strong importance on individualism and individual freedoms. I've been to Seattle 5 or 6 times, but that's about it.
I once talked to Holbert about America, and he wrote a big post, and then I never replied and he said he wated his time and I felt bad. This reminded me of that.

It upsets me to see american tabloids with headlines like "Obama and Muslims: Consorting with the Enemy!" I know tabloids are junk blah blah blah but that's just...wrong.
But reading the occassional Scientific American fills me with hope.

EDIT: The US has its fair share of flaws and positives just like any other country. As I'm not a citizen it's not my right to base judgements on the nation on half-biased media reports...
