IF YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO HAVE ANOTHER RTP...
Posts
This is just me asking for a style of graphics what people want in the future. This thread is serving a purpose that isn't going to be detailed yet. If you want to use illegal resources from commercial games go ahead but that isn't my point here.

Except we need to have a program that could make this unfortunately :'(
Something separate
Like RPG's SpriteMix? or go along with Photoshop, GIMP or any other graphics programs as well.
Yes. something like that. Or even facemaker
Or what charas did that allows you to add on your own stuff and dress them up to different characters.

I believe that Charas made use of PHP (which isn't in my league right now). BTW, setting up SpriteMix is easy but kinda bothersome if you don't have a .NET 3.5 framework (I remember, it took me 2 hours to download that hellish framework shiznit).
EDIT: before derailing things up...
If there'll be RTP, then we now also demand a new maker that will suit our demands. Okay, back on real topic, if there'll be a built-in SpriteMix on the new maker, then the RTP might either be a full bag of DIY (do it yourself) micro-resources (all the way from sprite bases , to eyes, hairstyles, clothes and other stuff) or there'll be few finished products, and more on pieces.
For the bagful of micro-resources, the SD must stay on its SD-Anime style, the RTP should now be less cute, and the Half-Kaizers (nah, doesn't need change, since it's best and goddamn detailed!)

I have that long ago when I tried programming in C++
If a program like that can be standalone it will work nicely.
One way is probably setting the color tones of all tiles to match despite where the environment is or have a program change the colors of the tiles using a palette that like in pixel art when you try to recolor something a square will set all the colors so you can change it. Damn my English sucks :/

*cough & facepalm* Photoshop can do this:
I dunno in GIMP though.
However, there might be detractors that will prevent what we all ask for and these might be their points:
1) almost everyone will abuse the RTPs (most RMXP games bleed RTP to death)
2) it's almost like making Frankenspriting legalized (or depending on the original authors though)

and...
3) There'll be moar lazy "I wunt some cuztum resourzes!!!111 Help meh make mah spiky-haired h1r0" people who'll push every spriters' nerves...
But the bright side on modifying the hues of the tileset, they can now come up with different genres, less editing needed on the tilesets.
The reason #1 might be subverted or in other words, be subject to the maker's preference, since most of us will be wishing an RTP with 3 themes eh...

No, basically what the thing I'm thinking of is that it shows styles. Let's take this as an example, what the program has are like from rm2k3, xp, vx, custom, paradigm in it as a package.
The program allows you to customize these templates to your liking like for example, I want to change the height of paradigm template and give it big shiny anime eyes. And I want the colors to be bright and cheerful but the tiles I have aren't cheerful enough. The program allows you to change the palette at ease and you can save it on will. You can also change the setting so that the program will align the character sheet at it specific size and width in case you changed something in the template like you made it taller.
Let's say something like this, you decided to use the rmxp tilesets. I want to combine cave with the forest, the problem is forest is too shiny and the cave is too dark so you use the palette swapper to load the palette something like this (I used Etna's head sorry)

Overall what I'm thinking is that maybe there's a program that should be made that allows developers to easily change and import the resources they want to use and make it in their own style with minimal effort to cut off the production time on their side. This way, makers won't be too scared to make their own custom graphics and set off with it and avoid having their games look like each other.
Now that I think about it, this is dangerous for my occupation >_>

Ahhh... I see it now... but what I've said about attempting to do that on Photoshop is also applicable too? (I'm beginning to talk like a Singaporean English)
Yes you can do that hatsuya :/
man my explaining sucks, lemme redo.
For example, the program has a set of premade graphics. Some of these are the preferred styles such as vx and stuff, but with the program you can just import and export things, mix and match while some you can edit out of the program reinsert them and then remake them to fit the theme you are aiming for. Maybe the program can help you like what you said:
and what S.F said
Basically maybe the new rtp should be some kind of like that except it's in a program where everyone can change it more easily than doing it in paint/graphics gale whatever. Then again :/
Think of it as a Dream in which A Program was born, and with it, Game Makers (Amateurs & Professionals alike) would use it to have an ease of creating templates & painting . . . A Tool that would save a huge amount of time in going through pixel by pixel or something alike~
Lol what <_<;

yeah, that'd be good. it'd be easier to make more original and diverse characters with all the character elements, as well as rich environments by combining the different tiles. it'd be like the charas-project generator only nicer!
and what S.F said
Right. I mean, it would come with pre-made resources, but it would also come with all of the MICRO resources used to create all of the pre-assembled stuff. Just like the program has a map editor where you put individual tiles to create an entire environment, it would be great to have a charaset editor, and a tileset editor.

With the recoloring being discussed here:

Then in Photoshop, I began picking colors from his other palettes, and I came up with 3 more color variations of the 1st piece:

I honestly have no clue what this has to do with a new run time package or a charas like program. Wouldn't this be in the ART section?

Oh... my bad.
(thanks for remindin' me anyways :D)
I'd like them to get rid of that darn Mack & Blue style for tilesets. Not only is it sooo uninspired and bland, but doesn't even fit into contemporary fantasy style; it's anachronistic.
I mean we've seen the same furniture designs over and over, ever since M&C released their first chipsets for 2K! It's time to move on, Enterbrain!

I'd say the XP RTP was made to be used for normal games, it hasa far greater diversity then the RTP of the 2k/3.
I guess I'd like a more realistic Version of the current RTP with big, non cubby characters.
Or maybe 640*480 Suikoden style, but that might not be too suited for someone entirely new to mapping.
