You are reequipping yourself with all your best equipment after the spoony bard disables the magnetic field right? I can't remember anything about that battle except for that.

Try levelling up a little more in or around the cave. Remember that monk-dude can still use his claws. And if you have the Weak spell... works wonders. ^.^

Everyone in FF4 gets stuck at the Dark Elf, even in the DS version? Wow..
I think FF4 is the ultimate "get stuck at boss X because you haven't leveled enough" game. But I could be wrong since I haven't played every game in the universe.

Also Protect/Shell can target the party now.
I never had troubles with him (unlike, say, the attack node) so I don't know what else to say

The DS version is harder than the original North American SNES version.
Have you reached level 30-35 yet? That seems to be a good range for this point in the remake, as opposed to the SNES version, where I'd say 20-25 would do.

Slow on each and every boss is a necessity (I believe not one is immune), just like Protect and Shell on your party. Haste is also cool. You don't really need to grind that much in this game.

*raiseshand* I didn't get stuck at him. The only boss I got stuck at was the demon wall.
He's a popular boss to get stuck at too.
What other people said about slow/protect/etc is probably right, I guess most people don't use that because they want the game to not be that simple.
