(Sure, I can do Gamecube next week)

Why 10.)...Megaman X6?

I'm guessing because someone said it's one of the worst a couple posts prior. I enjoyed it.

I think I played MMX6 once. And beat it like, 1.5 hours later and was done with it.
Some of my stuff is going to be obscure.

1. Tactics Ogre - Just a really, really good tactics game; it is basically Final Fantasy Tactics's mommy. Despite less job classes, it's gameplay is far more complex. It is also much more challenging and has well-executed multiple story branches. Atlus also did a pretty good localization for this and the story is excellent.

2. Valkyrie Profile - A really neat stylized RPG with a quirky minimalist story. I think most people here will know about this.

3. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - I'm pretty sure everyone knows this one. If not, play it, it's pretty easy to find.

4. Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne - Probably the best of the Shin Megami Tensei/Persona games. Buy it if you can find it. The customization mechanics and depth is incredible.

5. Culdcept - This is a really good, if odd, hybrid of Monopoly and the Magic TCG. It's solo campaign is somewhat entertaining, but it's way better in multiplayer. A sequel is being released to the 360 sometime next year.

6. Persona 2: Eternal Punishment - A really good modern RPG with extremely clever combat mechanics. Developing persona is extremely fun. The story is pretty good too, and the localization is generally above average. Also features one of the most annoying dungeons ever created (Sumaru TV).

7. Metal Gear Solid 3 - Everyone knows this.

8. Shadow Hearts 2 - Much better then Shadow Hearts 3. Genuinely likable characters. The Japan sequence feels a bit tacked on, though.

9. Suikoden V - Suikoden came from from III and IV. This one is pretty great, even if the first hours are a chore.

10. Deception III: Dark Delusion - A rather obscure strategy game in where your only defense is traps. Trap variety is immense; everything from boulders and arrows to electric traps that shock opponents in water and banana peels. It also has a neat gothic aesthetic and a trippy storyline with multiple branches and a variety of extras. Excellent game if you can find it. This game is the predecessor of Trapt, which isn't as good.

Notables:
Wild Arms
Final Fantasy Tactics
Saiyuki (One of the last games of the PS1 era, vanished under the PS2 rush, has some of the best level design in any tactics game)
God of War
Okami (Stylized Zelda-clone)
Shadow of the Colossus
Psychonauts (Yeah, not exactly single platform, but still - poor Psychonauts)
Odin Sphere
Devil May Cry 3
Romance of the Three Kingdoms (Pick one)
Kartia (Neat if only because of the weirdness; good plot and characterization, too)
Tales of the Abyss (A much better attempt then any previous Tales outing)
Suikoden 1
Suikoden 2
Persona 3 (Not as good as P2, though)
Vandal Hearts (Early PS1 tactics game; simple, but fun)
Vandal Hearts 2 (The story FFT wanted to tell the first time around)
Alundra (Pretty good attempt at Zelda)

And, yeah, that's enough for now.
10. Crash Bandicoot 2. PS1
9. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. PS2
8. Lord of the rings The return of the king. PS2
7. Final Fantasy 12. PS2
6. Final Fantasy 10. PS2
5. Crash Bandicoot Warped. PS2
4. Soul Calibur 2. PS2
3. Megaman X6. PS1
2. Final Fantasy X-2. PS2
1. Valkyrie Profile 2. PS2
By Megaman, do you mean Megaman Legends?
No, not Megaman legends. Megaman X6 is the game for PS1.

1. Final Fantasy VII - Do not ask me to compare this to VI (my second favorite in the Final Fantasy series). I'm not interested in arguing with anyone.

2. Metal Gear Solid - I never knew I liked action games until I played this.

3. Silent Hill - As someone who dislikes horror, I was disturbed by how invested I got in this game, playing it from start to finish repeatedly.

4. Suikoden - I have never actually played any of the others, unfortunately.

5. Tomb Raider - For an action game, this was actually quite relaxing. I blame Nathan McCree.

6. Star Ocean: Second Star Story - This was actually the first Star Ocean I played. I wouldn't play the first until emulation.

7. Valkyrie Profile - I really enjoyed the combat system. For being turn-based combat, it gave the illusion of being an action-based system very well. I think it was the animation.

8. Xenogears - It was a shame about the second disk. With everyone remaking everything these days, hopefully we'll get a version that tells the story as it was intended. If we can't an official one, I've got high hopes for an RPG Maker remake in the works.

9. Alundra - This was as close to classic Zelda as I could ever get on a 3D console, and it was fantastic.

10. Chrono Cross - This one originally pissed me off because I fought the end boss and was immediately greeted by the end credits, but I know that isn't the only possible ending, and this game is amazing regardless.

OH! I didn't realize that you were also asking about 2 and 3! Okay!

PS 2.

1. Final Fantasy X - This is a heavy contender for my top five favorite FF games.

2. Metal Gear Solid 3 - The absolute best in the series, even above the PS1 title.

3. Kingdom Hearts - There's no way you can ever say no to a Mickey Mouse/Final Fantasy crossover.

4. Shin Megami Tensai: Nocturne - My first time ever playing an SMT game and it is still my favorite.

5. Silent Hill 3 - If you beat the game, you get a costume that turns you into a magical girl, complete with a transformation sequence and superpowers. That is all.

6. dotHACK//Infection - When I first played this game, I thought it was a simulation of what online games were and I got the notion in my head online games must be fun. So far, Final Fantasy XIV is the only one that hasn't disappointed me.

7. Rogue Galaxy - I played this game for 20+ hours and reached a point I thought was the end. Then I found out I had only made it to the middle.

8. Dark Cloud - Sim City: High Fantasy RPG! I love it!

9. Star Ocean: Til the End of Time - This game really fell on its face when it turned out you were a video game character the whole time. Talk about a misfire. But the characters and the story branching was just so much fun!

10. Shadow of the Colossus - This game is just really pretty.

PS3

1. Borderlands - Holy shit! This might be one of the best FPS games ever made. I can't even count how many hours I spent on this.

2. Mirror's Edge - Some of the best dystopian sci-fi in a very long time.

3. Batman: Arkham Asylum - This is the first Batman game that truly felt like Batman. Everything that I remember coming before were basically Ninja Gaiden clones.

4. Heavy Rain - It's a compelling story, but I can't recommend playing it more than once.

5. Final Fantasy XIII - Fite me.

6. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - You. Get. To. Drive. Metal. Gear. Rex.

7. Bayonetta - I don't know what it is. Every time there's a platform/shooter with a scantily clad protagonist, I love it. Every time. shocked Pikachu meme

8. Fallout New Vegas - This game is doubly notable in the fact that I actually bought Fallout 3 expecting it to be just as awesome and I hated it. Money I wish I could have gotten back.

9. Mortal Kombat (2011) - Of course, us old timers remember the greatness of Mortal Kombats 1,2, and 3. Let's be real, there just wasn't a good one since until this one.

10. Bioshock - This is the only game in the series I enjoyed. I couldn't sit through another.
