FINAL FANTASY IV (DS)

I think we'll just have to deal with the name differences in pronunciation, although it totally throws me off as well.

I like Cecil's voice a lot -- he has that stereotypical good guy voice -- enough that you can tell he has that soft heart under all that evil dark knight armor.

And Kain... wow. That was just... terrible. I really hope that it sounds better in the game and that scene just was poorly selected...

No shit, Sherlock, I know the PSP is leagues beyond the DS, what I'm saying that it's retarded for Square to release Crisis Core, a beautiful game, although it's yet another FF7 spinoff on the PSP, and decide to develop this on the DS.

I think perhaps it was begun before that previous thread I posted above, and that perhaps square was going for something somewhat new. I think they were trying to pull off nice environments and chibi graphics on the DS, while keeping performance at a high.

If not, maybe they were going for something, and it just turned out like this instead. Heck, maybe they don't even like it, and are simply releasing it so that all the time put into it wasn't completely wasted.

Yet again, however, I still think it looks pretty awesome.

Yeah i know, i haven't played a descent game on the DS in quite a while. They just keep bringing out "Cats" "Dogs" "Horses" etc. I am expecting "Fishes" to be coming out soon. But yeah, i love all FF games so i will be of course playing this one.

That's all going to change this summer. Say hello to Etrian Odyssey II, Bangai-Oh Souls, Final Fantasy A2, Bleach: Dark Souls, and yeah, Final Fantasy IV. Then there's The World Ends With You, which already came out, and Dragon Quest IV, which is coming out in September. Then comes Dragon Quest IX! Yeah, the DS is getting an awful lot of RPGs and Treasure games.

And please do not try to turn this into a FF4 / Crisis Core debate. You continually use the "well Crisis Core looks great!" argument, which is quite moronic. The PSP is capable of far more graphics-wise than the DS could ever dream of. As far as DS games go, this is one of the best looking. So please just suck it up and be quiet about it.

I have no intention of turning this into a Crisis Core/FF4 debate, you're reading it wrong. Of course I'm not using the fact that another game looks better than this one as an argument, I was just saying that if they can make a game like Crisis Core on the PSP, the perhaps...they should have made this game for the PSP as well? That's all I'm saying. If there are technical or business reasons like you stated that this isn't possible, then so be it, and I accept that.

And yeah, I'm not sucking up and being quiet about anything, this isn't the FF4 Dicksucking Topic, this is a topic to talk about FF4, good or bad. If we can get 10 consecutive, constructive posts about how good it is, why not have some posts from someone who doesn't think it's the case? I'm not trolling or trying to bring down the game for anyone else, I just think the game is butt ugly. The game itself doesn't even seem bad. Just speaking my mind here, and I think I've said enough about it.

On to another topic, one thing that disappoints me for real is the fact that everyone was incredibly happy to hear that 3/4ths of some missing/cut plot elements from the original FF4 would be injected into this DS port, but upon playing it, the game is exactly the same in terms of plot except for like an extra scene or so. This isn't a horrible, horrible thing, because the original plot wasn't bad or anything, but assuming that Square was the ones who stated this 3/4th nonsense, why would they do some bullshit like that? Horrible rumor either way.
