I didn't see KOTOR anywhere on that list.
He's definitely played a lot, but I'd be up there too if I didn't have such a massive backlog. ;_;
Also, added FF3DS to my finished games and Pkmn Diamond to my "haven't beat" games.

I want to reply to this just for fun.

some games there I am not sure if they are actually RPGs, but my friends and plenty of forums have claimed them as such!

Wait...
...you've beat Vandal Hearts over 100 times, but you haven't beat Final Fantasy Tactics once?
You, sir, have your priorities all wrong.
Also, I am of the opinion that Zelda is not a RPG. It's an adventure game, but like many other genres it has incorporated more and more story elements that have given it the illusion of being a RPG.

Zelda was one of my "debatables", but as for FF tactics, I have wanted to play it, but it was just never available here for some reason....
Guess I'm unlucky!

I never really got into Final Fantasy tactics. I used to always start playing it and then just ditch it after a few days. It just didn't interest me how it wasn't a walk around type game like other Final Fantasies.
lol amusingly I STOPPED adding games I'd finished before the list got too long, lol.
I do play a lot of games, but then I've been roleplaying since the NES era (24 years old) - and yes my friend, KOTOR is one I've played through, and its sequel. Impressive use of a license!

I have to agree with the Zelda arguement - more action game less rpg, though some have been closer to being one than others. I've never got on a great deal with their recycling of plot elements and dungeon ideas for new generations of games. I know FF does a certain amount of cycling, but they have enough new material to make that work, LOZ spends a lot of time retreading known territory.
I asked like 6 friends about LoZ, and I checked earlier posts on this forum, and all read it as an RPG. I felt it as adventure, but I posted them anyway! You are also right on the repeating....ever since OOT, elements have been redone over and over again.
author=rcholbert link=topic=44.msg3767#msg3767 date=1191551209I agree with ...erm, well all of it but I wanted to reply about the zelda thing specifically.
Wait...

I've argued with random people about that. There isn't really any statistic improvement or anything... I guess you get new weapons, and sometimes weapon upgrades. And heart containers. But in that respect then a game like Metal Gear Solid would also be an RPG. Along with any other game in which you can get health bar extensions or finish the game with more weapons or moves than you started...x.x;;
From a story line only perspective, I guess it has as much as an RPG. But you can make a puzzle game with as much story as you want. It'll just probably be boring. Tetris would not be an RPG with that alone. v.v
OOT - hah! The worldmap in the latest game is a carbon copy of Zelda 4 on the SNES - darkworld included!
More or less, you're right, except the world map being the same. Besides the Dark World repeat in the latest game, about the only things that remain identical is the names of places, like Kakariko and Death Mountain. The maps of places have changed as far as location and appearance. But again, you are right; I can't think of any new named areas in TP since Lttp, except for Snowpeak.

What? They were repeating elements long before OoT. Doesn't mean they're still not awesome games.
Lol, chances are this will be a short list, I always get nice and far into rpg's, but then something comes up and they don't get finished. Anyway, here we go...
Super Mario RPG (probably my favorite super nintendo game)
Harvest moon: A wonderful life (if that counts)
Paper Mario
Paper mario: Thousand year door
Stick RPG(LOL, that doesn't count.)
RPG's that I tried to beat, but haven't:
FFX: (I was on the last boss, and then the ps2 started freezing every time I tried to fight him. Once we got it fixed, the memory card went missing, and still has yet to be found!)
Final fantasy X2: I tried for a little, and it was alright, but it got boring.
Jade Empire: I play it from time to time, but it's story isn't my personal favorite...
Morrowind: Really, I don't even try to beat it, I just enjoy the freedom of it, and so it's NEVER going to get finished.
Games I wish to beat that I have yet to start:
Breath of fire 1 and 2: I have a rom for both. Does anyone know about how long they are? I wish to beat them some time.
Final fantasy 3,4,5 and 6: I have roms for all of these, Ill probably do ff4 first, because when I was about 3 or 4 I played it, and now whenever I listen to the music, I get these amazing flashbacks and memories that make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Yet again, does anyone know about how long they are?
Anyway, theres what I've got to say
