I found a much simpler way to do it!
All i had to do was have the trigger "Hero hp 0-100%" call common event, and voila!

I like the concept of punishing someone for dropping below maybe...25 MP?
EDIT: It seems VX makes alot of things HARDER actually...

No dice. I still need my whole convoluted scheme in order for it to work...>.<
Oh well.
I might make it so that once you're exhausted you need "Mountain Perspiration" to wake you up.
That shit could wake the dead!
