BEST GAME YOU PERSONALLY DON'T LIKE.

Final Fantasy IV
Halo series
Devil May Cry series
World of Warcraft
The only other games I can think of are like Ocarina of Time and FF VII, but I like both those games. Just not as much as everyone else seems to have me believe I should.

I personally don't see what all the fuss is about with the under-programmed "Halo" series. Seriously...Halo = load of shit.
Edgy Response #2: The entire Fire Emblem series (well I only played two but that is enough for me)
(I'm substituting 'popular' for 'good' this time around)
*edit* english failure

wrong
Because personal opinions can be incorrect. Naw dawg, they can be obnoxious, but answers like that are even worse.
And while I've had fun playing Halo, I really don't see what all the hubbub is about.

You gotta suck the fun out of it, huh? Oh, ALRIGHT, serious answer.
While a statement like 'I don't really like it' and whatnot is fine, saying it's a load of shit or objectively garbage is just, well, it is wrong! Online matchmaking (which almost every other online game since has emulated), well balanced gameplay, Forge, Theater, and a ton of game options, a lively online population, a constantly growing list of maps and online events and promotions, hands on and attentive updates and interaction from Bungie, and what is Microsoft's most popular and successful game on Live ever (by far, the amount of people playing Halo is staggering), it's hard to say that the game itself doesn't have it going on, even if you don't like it.
To add on to what Feld said, I wasn't a fan of halo for a long time. In fact, I really disliked it. Then a younger friend of mine convinced me to try halo 3, on the terms of "BeerFancy soda pop. Pizza. Oh, and we're playing this all night." I was stunned with the depth and the sheer fun-factor of the multiplayer. Then he took me into Forge, and blew my mind all over again. We spent 3 solid hours just trying to unlock moar achievmentz for his profile. Fun times were had. Warthogs were flipped, repeatedly.
Say what you want in terms of personal preference/I dun't liek games with gunz *cry*, but the Halo series is professionally crafted, has an epicly large, supportive, Earthbound-kind-of-crazy fanbase, and features some damn fun multiplayer- a feat not easily accomplished in a modern FPS, and I feel, only bested by (GETREADYLOL) Timesplitters 2 on the Gamecube.

Remember what I said about you being my favorite poster? That times 10.
I really don't enjoy most FPS's. Stuff like Ghost Recon or FPS's with large story elements can hold my attentionwell enough, but most FPS's don't appeal to me. I feel like I'm playing Blake Stone again with shinier textures.
Final Fantasies 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 11 and 12.
Also, and I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet . . .
XENOSAGA
(Yes, all of them. Even 3)

I had no idea people liked Xenosaga. If they do, then I'm with you. Game sucked hard. I never got through the first one.
I think people liked Xenogears, which also sucked hard. I think I got banned for saying that at rpg2knet 5 or 6 years ago.

I can't believe I forgot Xenosaga, as well. Terrible, terrible. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking of putting Shion in the worst character thread but I might cause some trouble...people are either hot or cold with her...
The stories of Xenogears and Xenosaga were pretty "eh." (I liked the battle system in the former though. Wish I could say the same for the latter.) Both could have been better, Gears because of the restricted budget and Saga because of how goddamn convoluted it was. Oddly enough it's Yasunori Mitsuda mainly that makes me like them so much. Probably also why Episode 1 is my favorite in the trilogy.
And Canuck, if you've only played the first one be wary of Xenosaga 3 lovers. They are legion.
And Kindredz, imo Shion was fine up till the last episode with all her Kevin shenanigans. It's like every girl to have ever taken the side of the manipulative bad boy. Stupid, stupid...
Oh, and NOTHING is more powerful a reason to like a game than nostalgic value, which is why Xenogears is one of my favorites. Same dealio for Chrono Cross and Curse of Monkey Island. (Although both are awesome games still.)

I thought the Xenosaga series getting wrapped up after half way through the initial project plans was proof that most people really didn't care for the series.
Never tried it myself but watched my friend play it. *Yawn*
Don't know how good Star ocean 3 is supposed to be but I really didn't like that game much either.

All my gamer friends but one swear by Xenosaga. They act like it's the Ark of the Covenant or something.
And as long as we're talking about her, I didn't like Shion in the first two games, but I didn't actually dislike her until the third. Then I started to hate her.
Estrella, I've heard that SO3 is amazing, but it's usually the same people who like Xenosaga telling me that. The little bit of it I managed to drag myself through was not impressive.
Star Ocean 4 on the other hand was so shallow it's beyond belief, unless halfway in it's revealed that the whole thing was Edge hallucinating from drug use, and that he was actually just a nobody who called himself a pathetic name he though was cool. In which case, SO4 might qualify for Greatest Game Ever. Anything short of that, and it ends up on this list.
Actually, this is 'best' game you don't like, isn't it? SO4 probably doesn't even qualify past the first word.

Star Ocean 3 had somewhat entertaining gameplay marred by a terrible story.
Normally I'd say good gameplay makes up for a bad story, but the story is SO bad that I'd just out and out say that it isn't worth playing.
I've heard this is also true with SO4, which apparently tried to include every anime trope and as much fan service as conceivably possible.

People don't like Xenogears?
*scratches head*
Xenogears was epic. There was a reason that game went for $100 plus on ebay, back in the day.
Gameplay was one of my problems with Star Ocean 3 actually. I think it would have been good, but there was some gamebreaking flaws for me. Too many times in battle I would push the attack button to have my character run toward somewhere else instead of the target, only to get hit and have my battle guage destroyed. This, coupled with the story not being very good made me eventually say screw this stupid game.
I don't get these games either. What is with the Star Ocean series repeatedly sticking you on some little backwater planet for a good portion of the game? It's a complete waste of the concept.
