YOUR FAVORITE TYPE OF THING TO RAID IN RPGS

Most sewers I play, I enjoy. Mostly because they are pointless.
You just go in and leave, never need to return ever again.
Although rat and bat type monsters do get old and annoying but
what do you expect from a sewer......this

...Yeah, people's homes are the best. They tend to have good stuff, and there's usually no resistance.
You can usually even talk to them while you're robbing! Which isn't true with most dungeons, unless it's Megami Tensei or something

If 4 big ass bad ass dudes with a 5 foot flaming swords and bristling armor busted into your home and started rooting around in your drawers, would you stop them?
I like dungeons that have a lot of story and presence to them as opposed to being just mazes/obstacles. Zombie towns tend to be the best in this way. It's a bizarre example, but think of the different zones in Silent Hill games. Even though they're full of monsters now, they're places where people used to live, and the layout of rooms is based on how the place was actually used, instead of being just an arbitrary assortment of rooms that serve no purpose other than to be mazey and dungeony. It's easier to get a feeling like that in man-made areas like towns, as opposed to natural areas like caves.
I hate bio-organism dungeons just because they're gross. That includes you, Jabu-jabu.

I understand that sewers generally don't make good dungeons, but I think this is only because not many games with sewer dungeons in them (at least that I know of) put them to the proper use.
Honestly I kind of like sewers, if they're used right. In Oblivion there weren't any puzzles in the sewers and it was kind of boring, but then again that game doesn't have that many puzzles. I still have yet to see an awesome sewer dungeon, but come on, it's obviously possible.

Er yes cos i have a 6 ft blade!!!!!!!!!!
But sewers suck balls
Wells. Seemingly small empty wells that are actually huge inside! Since you don't have that option, I'll say sewers. I also like Abandon Castles and Ruins, with very creepy and dark atmospheres. I would probably imagine castles to have the best treasures to find too!

1) I for one loved slashing up his insides. The blood squirting out N64-style was an added plus.
2) Giygas' Lair in Earthbound was awesome, and you can't deny it.
I like to raid the elemental caves/towers/etc. that's where you can find some of the best weapons and armor in my favorite games: Golden Sun 1 & 2.
Sewers though are often just annoying for me, I hate having to go into them when I play games like Oblivion, their just long winding passages with bats, rats and goblins.

Final Dungeons that contain final bosses are cool. As for treasures, there's the satisfaction of completing the game, the final (and usually coolest) cutscene, and probably some end-game bonus. (hopefully)
I like Castles or Castle Ruins. In fact, there is an entire game series I enjoy very much which is 100% devoted to "raiding" these environments, but it's not exactly a RPG. Castles can have opera houses, dance halls, chapels, clock towers, dinner halls, art galleries, etc!
