TEAM PROJECT

For years now I've been working on and off on a story for an RPG Maker game. My plan was to be a lone ranger and develop the entire game myself. It was just a personal creative outlet. Since then I've been working with my brother on the basic plot and game design. We go much farther faster as a team and I've decided it's time to open this up to a group of people.

What do I mean by Team Project?
I am currently creating a forum that will be entirely dedicated to developing this game. Every category will be a category of game development. If you strength is storytelling you go to that section. If it's in creating a great battle system you go there.
-Every area of the game is open for discussion. As things are decided on they will be posted on a permanent information thread.
-Everything will be evaluated. As game development progresses every step will be evaluated by the team.
-Tasks. As time goes on and we know what direction to go in we will assign (or you could volunteer for) various tasks. These tasks will have due dates in order to keep things moving and keep momentum.

What information on the game do I currently have?
This is a TEAM PROJECT so everything is subject to change and open for discussion. However, these are the things that I believe will be our base.
Title: The Crystal Barrier
Story: I have written and have in my brain a very detailed plot. What I will do is not use all of it and keep it open for some creativity. I'll give as much of the basics as I can and open up discussion on each section. for now you'll just have to wait till the site opens to see.
Battle System: I plan on using Gubid's tactical battle system and tweaking it a lot. I am a big fan of the Sega Genesis Shining Force series. I want a system that will be simple, fun, and easy to use.
Menu System: After the core of the game has been made we will work towards creating a custom menu system.
Release Date: There is currently no release date and I don't plan on setting one anytime soon. To keep game progress moving we will assign tasks with due dates.

What kind of people am I looking for?
-People with loads of talent, and people with none. I believe everyone has something to offer. Even the worst game developer can chime in with a good idea occasionally. Even if you never do any actual development, you can at least give your ideas on how the best of us COULD develop.
-People willing to work as a team.

The motivation for every individual is to be a part of a project that is bigger than anything you could pull off by yourself. Let me know your thoughts on both how this could work or just simply express your interest. The website should be up and running within the week and I'll give more info when it's ready.
If you're recruiting people, I suggest you post any examples of previous work you have. That way people will be more apt to jump in with you.

Because, let's admit it, most games never get finished.

Anyway, good luck!

Community projects are good, but as this is more of a request, I'll be moving this thread. Feel free to start a new thread in the GD forum when things commence.
I'd be interested in helping with this. I wouldn't call myself adept with RPG Maker by any means, but I'm competent in its use. My strengths are in story and character development, as well as balance. Mostly, I'm at a point where I think my dev skills can improve better with collaboration than solo. If you'd like me to give you a hand with anything, let me know.
Same with me, Archfiend. However, I am pretty good with writing. Apparently a lot of people think I'm very good at writing, and I'm in advanced language arts at my school. If you need any help with putting "feeling" into dialouge, let me know.
I have always believed in making projects with more than one person. It is always good to search for help from other people. I may be interested in helping.
