The point isn't getting downloads, the point is getting something out there.
You're also forgetting two possible outcomes. The first one is that the person saying "meh" would not like the final version anyway. The second one is a new person who's never seen your game before, which is always likely and possible.

Getting something out there is a problem of mine. I keep showing program code, screen-shots, and ideas but I rarely actually package something for people to see. This event is a great way to get a feel for release dates and demos- at least that's how I see it. "Oh it's not ready" is the problem I really feel I have and I really need to quit thinking that way- people will know it's not ready and that it's going to be uber glitchy, buggy, and most likely short.
If you're worried about that, don't release something that you know is half-assed?

I'd say use your judgement as to what you think you want the public to see. :)

Like.. I probably have something I could release, but it wouldn't really mean anything to me or anyone else, so I'll hold off till a future RS.
Well, the point of RS is to stop this whole "holding off" business. However, it was never intended to usurp a regular release date (despite my advocacy for the event).

Well if you run out of time, you could always just release a program that shows your main character doing the caramelldansen or just an animation of that crazy avatar. Hey it's still a release!
Yeah, I'll have to scale back my release to a demo (probably) - I have only just now completed my refactoring from the beta testing I conducted, meaning that I still have 6 floors left to map and event and monsterize.

Holy crap 34 games so far. Is this going to be on another epic several hour long podcast? If so, the people doing that cast are devoted I say!
For the podcast, perhaps do part 1 and part 2.
McDohl says it's not likely. Hosts not getting the downloads (lolrapidshit) not being interested enough, not having enough time, etc. is a problem, so not everyone gets the voice feedback.

I would rather have a regular podcast than have it entirely based on a couple of guys going through 30-40 gams in one sitting. But don't worry I'll come up with some form of RS coverage to compensate.
welp, I thought I'll make it but I couldn't. Replacement teacher is eye-ing on my work progress like a hawk so I apologize but I have to drop mine T_T
