THE "YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE..." RMN GAMEPAGE MOVEMENT

Posts

Idea: Reviewers set tags like "ARPG", "Difficult", "Trippy", etc from pull-down lists and RMN uses those to parse what games are similar?

Yeah, I'd think this would make the most sense.

As an aside, it'd also work well for making custom-sorts so that you can find all games of a certain genre (horror for example)
Dungeon Crawl 'If you liked this...' page
I also added a small list of game makers that have other games like mine - in this case awesome dungeons.
I'm in this, too!
I went for games that have custom graphics, an older game style, and of course Dragon Quest.
There we go.

well, castle quest and maybe dungeon crawl are the only two games that are anywhere near the style of Dungeon Quest, but likewise I was inspired by Cavern of Doom when the first glimpses of it's truly spectacular visuals were shown. Also, Knight's Crest is awesome, so, yeah.

Well, I just took all the pretty good/decent, futuristic games I could think of (minus Razor, as i haven't played that one in too long to remember if I liked it or not). And yes, monstrous wars is fucking awesome.
This is an awesome idea! I just can't think of any games similar to mine... I guess it's time for me to go and play some more games.

This is a good idea, I'll get a few down with my game page.
So this is like just telling the others which games are similar to your own? Then I have a problem, because my games are unique. There aren't even games which come near to my style... O.o

Edit: One more thing: HAVE the similar games to be in RMN database or is it also allowed to mention games from other sites there?

If someone can name me a Christmas game or a shooter I could add those, but I know nothing like that.
Theres that Starbucks game...http://rpgmaker.net/games/922/

And there are plenty of shooter games, like Impossible Maze of Death (or whatever) and things like the top-down Battle City GOLD.

Hurray for extremely generic names for games with all of a week of development time, am I right?
So I've seen a lot of participants in this movement, but we could always use more! Any more volunteers?

Alternatively, I can manually do this. I HAVE...THE POWER!!

I'll probably add one of these eventually, but I have to become better acquainted with RMN games first...

You wouldn't dare do such an administrative thing!

Same here.

When I get progress on my other games I suppose I'll add pages for them too.
Sweet. You guys rock.

(I sent out like 13 PMs about this)

EDIT:
If I get Craze and Ephiam on board that will cover (on a conservative estimate) 513 games in the database.

With a supreme burst of effort, I have finished one recommendation page.

I must now refill my mana before beginning the process again.
Both my new projects will also have this. When I get around to putting them up here (it is a matter of progress afterall).
I'll eventually get to it, but I'm doing so much lately. I'll probably do one a day or something. =/

When my game is actually far enough along to merit one of these, expect that it'll have one.
For the time being, nobody can 'also' like anything, since they can't really play my game. :/
