Let's Play: Mother 2 (Earthbound)



What's the Point of this Let's Play?
I've been wanting to do one of these things for quite a while, so I decided to try it out on one of my favorite games. This is mostly for entertainment purposes, but you can also use it to see what Earthbound is like without playing it. I strongly suggest you play it, though, if you haven't already. Everyone can also post in this topic talking about Earthbound and the Mother series as a whole.

What is Mother 2/Earthbound?
For those that don't know, Earthbound was called Mother 2 in Japan, since it was the sequel of a Japan only game called Mother. I'll be calling it Earthbound mostly in this let's play. As to what kind of game Earthbound is, it's hard to say. It's definitely a Super Nintendo era RPG, but, it has it's own quirky style that really sets it apart. The story is simple and the characters are somewhat one-dimensional, but that doesn't mean that they aren't likable. Don't let the looks fool you, however. Earthbound is a lengthy and challenging game if you don't know what your doing. Anyway, you'll see more of Earthbound and it's... uniqueness as this let's play unfolds.

What Will be Featured in this Let's Play?
Before we start, I'll say right now that this isn't going to be a super let's play. I'm not going to delve into all of Earthbound's secrets, find every hidden item, or make my party extremely powerful. You will, however, get to watch me as a I play through Earthbound for just my second time, and see my strategies for beating each boss and going through each dungeon. Plus, you'll get to watch the story as it unfolds.

How Can You be Involved?
Like I said earlier, this topic will also serve as an Earthbound/Mother series discussion topic. So, in between updates, feel free to talk about anything Mother related. Also, you can point out anything that I didn't cover in Earthbound if you feel the need.

You also have to admit - "PSI Fuckin' OMEGA" is just plain amusing.

Very amusing, yes, but I'm not gonna use curse words. Sorry!
