IMPORTING FILES

I'm finding a bunch of great chipsets and whatnot, but I can't import them. I get an error like

"Invalid color depth"

Is there any way I can get it to a valid color depth?
Set down the colour depth by using IrfanView, or XNView, or Gimp, or whatever your favourite graphic program is. From 24 bit to 8 bit because RM2k(/3) is only able to use pics with 256 colours, this conforms 8bit colour depth.
Alright, I'll try that, thanks. :)
Also - just a note - but when importing sometimes you need to click on the background colour to make it transparent. Otherwise you get coloured squares outlining the sprites. Just an FYI. ^.^
Ah, that'd be why on some of my chipsets, the second layer "transparent" stuff shows up over the first layer.

And on topic to my question, I get what I'm supposed to do, but I don't know how =\.

Can't find anything on google. (i'm using gimp 2.6, by the way)

Any help?
you can use graphicsgale to set your pics to 256 colors.
I'm pretty sure that only images saved as .png .bmp or .xyz files work in RM2K/3, so that may also be a problem.

Basically get an imaging program (that isn't iDraw) that can use 24-bit colours then look for the command to change the colour depths. If it's still a problem, zip them up here and I'll do them for you. But it's a good idea to try and figure it out yourself first.
It's saved as a png. I have gimp 2.6, can't find anything on changing to 8-bit. =\

And nothing on google. I might just zip them up here -.-
