Not for a project in particular, just for fun, and ended up making a tutorial on how to do this.
It looks neat, but the perspective seems off in some places.

Oh man that reminds me of that disorienting Ultima game that made me want to puke. I understand that drawing things like that might be more realistic and allows you show to more information by showing more sides of an object, but it's kind of weird-looking and I really discourage that sort of perspective.

That said, your actualy technique is supurb and the tiles look great.

Yeah I remember a bunch of old games from that perspective. It always hurts my head.

But like brandon said, it's pretty well made regardless.
Reminds me of this MMORPG called Tibia, heheh. It's a refreshing perspective none the less when used to it.

Yeah, I was just curious on how they do that type of graphic style, and now I know (I hated the bright colors and black outlines on everything in Ultima too). Plus, making Zelda style stuff isn't much different than this. But that'll be for another day!

Winter map! I can't complain about it, it looks fine to me. It's weird how it's February and yet the weather has been very nice here. I got hit with warm air going out of the house yesterday, and I think they said it beat the record for the warmest February 6th in NY.
What are you talking about? Did you not see my -52 degrees thread?

Also, I like wintermaps.

I saw it... I think we stole your heat or something. It's not that bad out today, it's sunny and at least 48F or so.

Yeah, I know. Not the most magnificient maps seen, but I rather have things kinda bare than too many things to make it crowded. Oh, and the two beds aren't on top when the game is in play.
You are like me. I hate to have my maps crowded with stuff as well. When i make maps such as roads and forests etc i like to keep them nice and open with the detail in them to make them look good.
Hello i'm french sorry for my english.

It's made with Rpg maker Xp.

Bonjour et bienvenue a RMN! C'est bon!

Man, the French, and Germans (and Europe in general) are lightyears ahead of what we can do in the piddly colonies.

This reminds me of SimCity...
That looks pretty good especially the title of your game.
@Rockmik: Wow, I really like that. I am assuming you did the graphics yourself? Is there a video or something where we can see it animated?
The graphics are myself. I haven't video for the moment sorry.
After game creation, I search someone to translate the game to english.

I wish you understand. :D

@Rockmik - I honestly don't want to know what your games about judging from that screen but WOW, how did you manage that, looks more like a indie 3D game more then an Rpgmaker XP game?

@Ocean - looks cool, makes me want to give it a try.. nah, almost though ;).

Something old, but I might change the graphical look to something more.. Sin City-ish for this type of game. What do you guys think, keep this style, or Sin City-ish style, Wish I had a comparison for you guys.

@Reives - Looks good as usual man, how did you make it so the image looked like that on the forum?
Sorry no one can beat my awsome pic, took me 20 hours to make and 7 years to upload. 8)

That isn't a screenshot.
Here's some screenshots of my new project, "Alien Bounty (VERY much working title).

You start the game here. At the top is what I have planned for radio tranmissions and such. It actually isn't a system, I just use "Show Picture" and happened to find the right coordinates. The window is for face graphics, though -- I didn't make a version of every box with every single face.

Basic combat. I'm debating whether to use the Gauge or Alternative battle system. I'm probably not going to use the Traditional type, though. (Note: I'm still working on the numbers for the system, so that's why some of the numbers are different.) Also, if you look closely inside the red circle, you'll see an arrow that may be used for my game as part of the System2.

The first choice you have in the game. Saving the kids will get you extra EXP and money, plus increase your fame, reputation, and affinity value a bit later on. (Those are variable that determine how well people know you, how good people think of you, and your good/neutral/evil status.) Of course, if you're in a bad mood, you can always let them die, which will still increase your fame and reputaion but decrease your affinity value (to make you slightly more evil).

This is what I'm planning to use for the start of any boss battle. What happens is, I start the battle music and have your characters and the boss appear in certain beats at the beginning. Then the "VS" flies down 3D-ish, and a few seconds later the fight starts. (If you're wondering, the boss music will most likely be one of the boss battle musics from Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean for Nintendo GameCube)

This is part of the first town in the game. The arrow shows how you walk on top of the bridge at first, then when you go down the steps you're under the bridge. Sorry if I'm a little too excited about this, I'm just glad I figured out how to do it.

Anyway, hopefully it looks half-decent. I suck at making custom sprites though, so anyone who's willing to help can PM me. Also, almost all of the sprites and tilesets, etc. are from Neok's Alter A.I.L.A. game. The bounty hunters stance is actually an edit of Orange from that game. Credit will be given as needed. I'm gonna make a custom system eventually, too.
I'm not sure if you already said it but is this game made in rpg maker or game maker?
