I hope you don't mind me asking this, but how easy would you say making a game with ika will be when the whole refinement is done? Will a total programming newbie be able to make a game without a whole lot of hardship?

That's a lot of java in those tabs.
There is no ETA on the next BIG release. 0.63 was made mainly to alleviate some compatibility problems and before we start doing major work on it.
