Do you truly think were just some creatures that evolved from nothing only here to die?
Do you truly think we are slaves, bound to work of fiction that should dictate our potential? We are creatures that evolved, but not to die. We have evolved to ensure further life by passing on our genetics.
This topic is getting pretty ridiculous. To be honest I'm not really sure how high on the tier it was in the first place.

I tire of this topic so I will leave my parting thoughts:
I have very christian beliefs, AFD. I have read the Bible as well as other religious works. I never said anything in this topic that was against christian beliefs. However, due to the fact that I was disagreeing with you, you have labelled me as a heathen and non-christian. Which are both very far from the truth.
You have done exactly as the bible has told you not to do. You have judged me and the others here. Some could consider your remarks in this topic as offensive. I just consider them to be from somebody who doesn't really know themself.

Religion isn't something that can be proven or disproved so I pity anyone who says that they absolutely know the truth, religious or non-religious.

Religion isn't something that can be proven or disproved so I pity anyone who says that they absolutely know the truth, religious or non-religious.
I absolutely believe in God and I absolutely know the truth. I feel God.
And I will never back down at the chance to spread his word.
Regardless of what you guys try to say and insult me with.
It doesn't stop the truth from being the truth.
But I guess we will all find out the REAL truth when we die.

Marriage has a legal definition. The term and practice is most likely borrowed from traditional Christian marriage, yes. The church has the right to deny marriage ceremonies to whomever they want. The moral dilemma falls upon same sex couples who wish to practice a religion that outright forbids it.
However, the government should not have the right to deny legal marriage contracts between any two legal citizens, regardless of gender. All men and women have the right to equal protection under the law, like Jude said. What religion they practice or beliefs they have is irrelevant. The issue is not that a democratic process has taken place and the majority has chosen to ban gay marriage. The real issue is that the people and government as a whole do not have the right to interfere with or deny rights to other citizens in good standing. THIS IS THE EXACT SAME THING AS DENYING RIGHTS TO A LEGAL CITIZEN DUE TO THEIR RACE, which itself is an illegal practice.
I am irritated beyond belief just like Craze is that this continues to happen in our country. I don't care if the vast majority of the United States votes against gay marriage. It's not up to them, or us.
However, the government should not have the right to deny legal marriage contracts between any two legal citizens, regardless of gender. Don't be like that, bro. I have faith in you. I have faith in your faith. I know tons of Christians who are really, really good people. They don't throw their beliefs in anyone's faces. When you do things like that, you just make it seem like you're a moron who doesn't really have much of a belief in the first place, so you're scrambling to hold onto what ideas you have in hopes that all those nagging doubts will go away.
So you say that no matter what, without your own research, without your own confirmation and just based on whatever someone else tells you, you're infallible because God is infallible. Sorry, but man is flawed. You don't need to be religious to know that. Don't tell me that you hope I find peace with the lord, because you should be worried about yourself first.
