AFD. First off, I am Christian. I do not blindly follow, and make my decision to believe rationally. I have studied Biblical passages, led congregations in worship, and explained religious concepts to other people, so I know what I am talking about.

Christ's message was, as Solitayre said, of peace, love, tolerance, and unity. Remember that beforehand, God had led the Jews, but the point of Christ was to "make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19) -- thus Christianity. To make believers, regardless of whatever characteristics people had.
TOLERANCE:
God is not supposed to be a security camera. It's not: "do exactly this or you will be caught and burn forever." Sure, God said homosexuality is a sin, but the point is, everyone has sinned. Even you, AFD, have sinned, and cannot help continuing to sin. You can be homosexual and still go to heaven--the only requirement for going to heaven, as Christ specifially states, is to believe in him.

You can sin in your last breath on earth, but as long as you believe in Christ, you will be forgiven. The homosexuality thing is no worse than than any other sin--every sin, from a simple to mass murder is the same in the eyes of God.
The things you're saying are the same type of things that caused the bloody Crusades, or the things Christopher Columbus did to the Native Americans. You do not preach to force people to believe, you teach them and help them to grow.
Personally, I do not support gay marriage as I believe marriage is a religious institution, but I believe that domestic partnerships should have equality.
Perhaps you should considering quoted your source text--the Bible--like I did next time.

"Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination" (Leviticus 18:22). "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them" (Leviticus 20:13)
Wow, it realy does exist, right there in the Old Testament. That's amazing. Let's see what else the Old Testament has to say...
"Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. You can will them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly." Leviticus 25:44-46
“If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as menservants do. If she does not please the master who has selected her for himself, he must let her be redeemed." Exodus 21: 7-8
“If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, 21 but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property." Exodus 21:20
So owning slaves is also okay, and you can beat them as long as you don't kill them. Also you can sell your daughter into slavery as long as you follow the rules.
I am not trying to rag on the Bible or the Jews or anything like that but I think that perhaps not all of this applies anymore. Society has ruled that slavery is not okay anymore, why can't they rule that homosexuality IS okay? Lots of places in the world have done so and I don't think God hates those people. Someday, the United States will as well, I'm sure.
