SHINAN'S INTERVIEW SERIES
Posts
oh man the very end of the podcast is awesome. Shinan put in the part of the interview with me that he cut out.
Plus, Bubble Bobble.

WIRESMan I remember taking that guy to task as I am a huge FF6 nerd. His game still never made any sense plot-wise.
I remember that over at GW - though I stumbled on it long after the fact. I found it funny on the grounds that FF6 is done in a steampunk style, and if you create a list of things that you do not include in steampunk, it's literally:
Things you should avoid in Steampunk Designs:
1.) Electrical wiring
It's like trying to make a fan sequel to Bioshock and giving Little Sisters iPods.
I'd suggest getting everybody to record their own mics and sending the result to you to put together and edit to avoid all that break up. Also that two people talk out of different channels at the end is really annoying to people with headphones. Please don't do it again.
post=113523I messed up the editing for the end bit and didn't want to spend the few minutes it would have taken to make it sound in both ears since it was just a fun extra bit in the end so I left it as it was recorded instead of converting it. I also hate it when sound is split up like that since I use headphones for nearly everything but I thought I could get away with it for those 20 seconds.

And local recording is probably a good idea but it would completely depend on the interviewee if they want to take the extra step. Perhaps in time for the third episode when I've become frustrated enough :)
Yeah, it was 20 seconds but I remember it since it was right at the very end and besides local recording I didn't have any suggestions for improvement
Hopefully future interviewee's don't mind the setup for local recording because it helps but if #1 is any indication it won't exactly sink anything

I'm more interesting than I thought!
post=113528I actually liked the back-and-forth channels for the very end (and I was wearing headphones). I thought it was a neat touch and intentional. It kind of suited the lighthearted nature of the exchange.

Actually the recording was in stereo with one person in each channel. Which turned out to be great for editing since I could edit out all the time two people spoke at once and occasionally even move those so that they became separate. I also could edit out all my heavy breathing while talking to Chaos without disturbing the whole too much. However I know that listening to anything that way for anything more than a couple of seconds gets very frustrating when using headphones.
By the way, anyone who has listened to the whole thing. What did you think about my "dramatization" of a random RMN game there at the end. I thought it would be a fun thing to do, using the random game feature and making a reading of the intro. However what ddid you think? Did it detract too much and feel out of place or was it a fun thing?
Also I won't tell what game it was. You will have to figure that out for yourself. :D

An interview with catmitts. It will unfortunately be a bit late. Which is a great start for a second episode... ...
But expect the episode on Saturday or Sunday.
But expect the episode on Saturday or Sunday.
Alright! After too many days of being offline! The January episode is now out!
Episode 2
Only one interview this time unfortunately ;_; But instead it's a great interview with catmitts. The episode is 33 minutes long and little over 15MB.
In the end I made a mistake again so for the last minute there will be sound alternating from left to right headphones. Perhaps I should just make that a running thing...
Also in the last episode the intro I "dramatized" was the game Grave Spirit. This time... It's another game.
