Don't like it at all and I'm starting to get that feeling that Lufia DS will be garbage.

The website got updated some time ago.

You! If you don't want to be sent flying, then step aside! {unsure}
Profile:
Age: 24 years old
Height: 195 cm
Weapon: Hammer
Wave device: Burst of thunder wave device {unsure about the "burst" part; burst + thunder might simply mean bomb/explosive}
Attack type: Power type
Description:
With a deep sense of duty and humanity, he has a lively personality whose raison d'etre is warriors and fighting {unsure}. For that reason, {something about Parcelyte and Selena}. Currently, he is continuing to live as a freeloader at his lover's, Jessica's, residence. She is constantly scolding the muscly idiot.

Aah, that's right. We're already comrades. It is natural for comrades to help each other.

About the design's concept
Because Guy has an axe in the previous game, he became the power character. However, lately, if you thoroughly think about it, he has become a gachimuchi (laughs) {unsure}. {According to what Google finds, Gachimuchi probably refers to muscly men.}
The weapon is different?
Having become a gachimuchi, an axe is not sufficient anymore. Therefore, it turned into a hammer that can explode {unsure about exploding part}.
The character's personality
His personality is one of a lively idiot. This matches with the previous game, doesn't it?
For the player, what kind of character is it? {unsure}
While his hammer's attacks come out slow, there is power. We think it is fun to fight with this character {there's a character that was too blurry to figure out, so I might be omitting something}. He is suitable for advanced players.
Artea:
Quote:
It is safe, so calm down. Rest your mind.
Profile:
Age: Unknown
Height: 181 cm
Weapon: Gun
Wave device: Light {something} wave device
Attack type: Technique type
Description:
Possessing wave devices bestowed upon them from the gods in ancient times and loving peace, they are quiet elves. They were avoiding people, but by meeting with Maxim and group, they have come to slowly believe in people again. Their personalities do not show any emotions on the surface by always remaining gentle and calm. Having lived for many years and months, they have extensive knowledge about history and legends. With that knowledge, they have helped the party in various scenes.

Only the resonance of the wave hero's waves, {maybe something about power to bring down gods}.

About the character's design
{Something about Artea, traditional fantasy RPG clothing, not silly}
The weapon is different?
However, that is not enough {unsure}. To make it interesting this time and to attain balance with the ground characters, he has been given a gun instead of a bow as a weapon.
The character's personality
{Something about his personality being calm and about a hot feeling?}
For the player, what kind of character is it?
With Arty's ability called "Glider" that activates after a jump, the ability to glide for long periods of time is a very enjoyable game {unsure}. Also, with his weapon's multi-lock's exhilaration {?}, fighting is enjoyable.
Hydekar/Haidekka:
Quote:
The strongest man Hydekar, now visiting! {"Now here"? "Now present"?}
Profile:
Age: 26 years old
Height: 185 cm
Weapon: {probably an expression involving 1 and 10000; maybe it means many in one?} sword
Wave device: Unrivaled wave device
Attack type: Almighty type
Description:
Possessing an ancient wave device that transforms into any shape, he is the strongest man in the kingdom of Bound Kingdom. With an overwhelming amount of sense of combat, he can immediately make his own any of the techniques of his opponents he has seen. Always polishing his sword's sheath to aim for the strongest, he seems to possess the self-styled technique of 100 heart slaughter {unsure}. With good looks, {something about immediately rejecting}. {Something about being an idiotic rebel?}
Screenshot on the left:
The land's strongest man, Hydekar, now visiting!
Screenshot on the right:
Fuh {"Heh"?}, I don't want to brag, but my sword's specialty surely is to cheer people up {unsure}!

About the character's design
In the previous game, Hydekar's design had a red mesh in his blue hair, but, if the time period is considered, it was quite an extraordinary hairstyle. By reconsidering the current time period, the design of an ordinary hairstyle isn't bad {unsure}. Therefore, at first, there were jokes such as "How about pink?" and then, that previously mentioned design seemed good (laughs). It became the current hair because of such a reason.
The character's personality
His personality, similar to the previous game's, is one of a person who is very serious but nevertheless an idiot. Up until now, starting with Jimmy and Amy, and then Guy and Tia too, he has proved to be somewhat an idiot, {stuff about many characters, laughing, an idiot} (laughs).
For players, what kind of character is it?
The way to play, with an almighty type that can equip everybody's weapon, is wanting to freely taste the "strongest" {unsure}.
System {just the text in yellow}:
Real Time Battle
Character change and combos; control the power of "real time battle"!!
2 Screen Battle
The DS's great appeal of the 2 screen battle!! {unsure}

The various appearances that dungeons and towns display

Maxim's wave art
Cross Dash
Selena's wave art
Icicle Blade
Tia's wave art
Hook Shot
Guy's wave art
Trial Hammer

2. Savior of the Land {?} (Arranged version) {For the Savior}
3. Savior of the Land (DS version)
Guy was not a lively idiot, he was actually pretty deep, dutiful, and philosophical! Also whoever decided to give Artea a gun needs to be shot.
They said he was still that, Solitayre.
HAHA NEEDS TO BE SHOT, I GET IT

They also have new gameplay videos up if you click on each character. It looks pretty cool.
And I'm really liking the new character designs!

You know that second one is Tia and not Selan, right? I don't understand your weird attachment to their old art... Selan really didn't look that cool.
The old art is much better. It has life and charm to it instead of just, woaaah these are very hip anime characters! The new Tia is just, ???? I think a big part of the story relied on the player feeling sympathetic towards her, so redesigning her into a dumb anime brat is probably not the best creative choice. Yeah I know TWO ANIME CHARS CANNOT HAVE SAME HAIRCOLOR OR ELSE WHO CAN TELL THEM APART!! but they could have just kept Selan's hair green like her sprite I guess. Also Square cannot make an action rpg anymore this has been proven again and again since 1995
While reading this thread, nearly every post conjurers an image of the Frankstein monster waving his arms and grunting; "CHANGE, BAAAAAD!"
Seriously though we no virtually nothing about this game other than how it looks and people seem to have made up their minds already. I loved the original Lufia 2 and I hope that this will be a good, albeit different, game. That being said, I'm not going to blindly purchase it until I read some reviews.

Yes, change is bad when it makes very little sense, like studded leather jackets and gun wielding elves! It does not really fit into the context of Lufia 2.
Square isn't making this, Ciel. Just publishing.
I kinda like the new "Guy" a LOT more than the old one, and what was the last guy's name? Dekar? something like that? he looks cool too.
I dont' really mind the changes since i never even saw the old art, just the tiny big headed in game chars...

I think judging a game based on movies of its gameplay isn't too unfair. We're not just looking at screenshots.
The features that I will judge the new Lufia on are: tight responsive controls, good story and characterization, intelligent dungeon design, and gameplay that is genuinely fun. A five minute trailer in a language I don't understand does not tell me whether of not the game has any of this. I just believe you really can't and shouldn't judge a game when it hasn't even been released yet.
So you basically have no emotion towards any games before they are released, because that emotion might be wrong, and that would be bad?
The trailer told me it's an action/RPG on the DS. It also tells me it's another game that does 3D graphics on the DS despite it always looking bad. The action/RPG elements it showed me didn't look innovative in the least and looked mediocre. I don't have any certainty in saying this, so I won't call it a judgment, but an impression.

I'm excited for this. I like the FF3 and FF4 DS games, but I only really like them because (a) I've never played FF3, and (b) I enjoy playing almost any version of FF4 on any system ever (more for nostalgia, really- I've never even completed FF6! I blame the crappy $20 cartridge)
So I'm excited for this game because I'm familiar with Lufia, but there's switching up the battle system (and, as tardis pointed out, there are now boobs- that counts for something, right???) What I care the most about is that the dungeon exploration itself is a ton of fun, with challenging, fun puzzles. That's what I remember best about Lufia 2 and what I want to see the most of. Along with rocking jams.

Well, I'm just going to treat this as another Lufia game, not a remake. That way I can be both disappointed but pleased. I like the look of the switching in battle, I just hope they use controls that are easy to use, instead of insisting that the touch screen be for every damn interaction like some games. I really wish they'd released this on PS2 or even PS3 instead because the graphical quality so far is pretty nice and I really don't want it squashed down onto a small hand held screen.
I'll give it a go when it comes out though because, well, it's a Lufia isn't it?
