if you're a windows user and get a virus, you are not smart enough to own a pc.
:(
I guess i'll get a mac then.
Anyone who cries about expensive Apple products haven't obviously touched one. While I don't own one myself, Macbooks are superior to most of the other players in the market, I find the unibody build exceptional. I own a NC10 netbook as I don't do many intensive tasks like graphic processing, gaming, muti-tasking etc. so it's ideal for me.
You need to think about what you want to do with your laptop and shortlist some laptops and post them here or something.

right, well my mum and brother did the whole 'surpise!' thing, and got me a macbook, which i was really happy with, and very very very grateful, but it seems like everything i used to go on the computer for cant be done on a mac.
i cant even play rpgmaker games because its a windows exe.
I cant use my old photoshop/any programmes i had because their pc, i cant seem to do anything. I knew before getting it that it had restrictions, but i wish id been told about the extent of the restrictions :(
Is there a way to get round this, am i just being stupid?
I can return it for a pc, but it's hassle for my mum and i don't want to seem ungrateful.

You should be able to install Windows on it. I don't know the specifics as I've never owned a mac but it's really common. Google info on "bootcamp." Obviously you'll need a copy of Windows to install on it - but you'll have both OSX and Windows and can just choose which one you want to use at startup.
Karsuman is also primarily a Mac user. I believe he uses various VM (Virtual Machines) to do RM stuff in.

Just buy an Asus as they are getting good reviews on the 'Internet'
Good joke. I laughed.
