SHOULD I COPY FOR MY GAME?

Midi file sites like VG music have midi files from games like super mario, legend of zelda, Sonic, Final Fanasey etc.
Personally for my RPG project I want to avoid using midi files like that and stick with what RPG maker gave me using only rpg maker resources. But if I was to make a sequel to my project I also wouldn't want to use
the same midi files over and over.
Should I just use VG music and copy music from games like Sonic and Legend of Zelda?

if you're not a composer yourself and you don't have the money to hire one there are certain original midis that are free to use for non-profit purposes. Bjorn Lynne offers some and if you search free original midis in google you will find 19,500,000 websites. enjoy your browsing
If you're willing to use MP3s instead of MIDIs, the Newgrounds Audio Portal is a great place to find free music. Everything there can be used royalty-free with credit to the author.

ok but I was wondering should I use music from VG music or use only RPG Maker resources?
try to avoid it if you can. i find it cheapens the whole game experience. it's the same with commercial games that use non-specific popular music in an extra-diegetic context in their soundtracks. it just sounds a bit wrong. (except where it's kind of necessary obviously - see also rhythm games)
post=109924Neither. Original songs are better. There are some VG remixes on Newgrounds but most of what you'll find is original.post=109920ok but I was wondering should I use music from VG music or use only RPG Maker resources?
