2009 RMN CHRISTMAS LIST

The problem is, when you get to my age if there's anything you want you can just go out and buy it yourself whenever.
So I haven't actually asked for anything much. Just DVDs really.

There are actually a few books I want, but it's no biggie. I know my aunt is getting me Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins (hear he's like if David Lynch wrote novels) and Swimming in the Monsoon Sea by Shyam Selvadurai (gay young adult novel that's supposedly pretty decent). I might also get The Myth of Sisyphus by Albert Camus. Maybe a few movies too, we'll see.
I think I was offended by this topic last year, too. You guys are way too concerned with what other people are giving you.

Goodwill for my fellow man.

I'm still a child inside :)
Well, it is what we're wishing for. But I'm giving my mother a coffee maker and Sabrina (that one Audrey Hepburn movie), my one brother The Fog of War, Foxy Brown, Coffy, and probably another documentary, my other brother Mr. Muo's Traveling Couch by Dai Sijie, Blacula (Soul Cinema movies were five bucks), and a poster of Rick Moranis if I can find one, and my dad just wanted Camelot.

I'm not really sure of anything I'm getting.
I've asked for...
1.) A new entertainment center
2.) A digital camera (I'm not a camera whiz, so I didn't specify...just so long as it can connect to a PC, I'm good)
3.) Some noise-cancelling headphones

No, but I hate people whose first thought when it comes to Christmas is how much money their parents are able to spend on them. People who can contribute to 20 or so posts in a thread like this without once mentioning thoughtful gifts they've chosen for others - until, of course, someone comes in and points it out.
post=112174Personally, I can't wait until my sister has kids and we can finally drop buying gifts for each other. Then it will be easy to find "thoughtful" gifts (ie- Transformers)post=112031No, but I hate people whose first thought when it comes to Christmas is how much money their parents are able to spend on them. However, I should point out that the OP asked about what we want for xmas.

Well I'm kind of taking issue with the premise of the whole discussion =(

I am dirt poor, at the moment. I won't be able to buy any gifts for anyone (and, yeah, of course I want to; I recall two years ago, where I spent almost $100 on gifts for my parents and siblings, so it's not like I don't care...)
post=112174Well, the title of the topic is "Christmas List", you know? =)

As a mother, I'm the one who offers, and not anymore the one who receives, and that since a veeeeery long time. But I never made lists for the presents I offered, and I'm sure that no-one does...
Anyway, my Christmas list is short. It's mainly made of friendship, sympathy, peace and all that sort of things.
To be received AND to be given. 8)
Edit: oh, and less issues would be nice too...but there is not much to be done about that! :P
I have never agreed with the ideals of this holiday. It is like the muppets say, supposed to be a time to get together with loved ones and offer peace to all men etc. I like to be around friends and family during Christmas, but do not support the gift buying. If a gift is worth giving, it should be from the heart not the wallet.
That's why every year I write my family a christmas short story. This year I'm also writing a children's story for my best friend's niece and nephew.
I keep telling people not to get me anything, but I usually get chocolate and socks.
