I can't help but feel like I've missed out on something really great. I've already played and thoroughly enjoyed torchlight, so I was considering picking the game up.
I've heard of addicts playing this game for almost 6 years now, so I was curious if anyone around here still played. Is it too late, have I missed the golden age?

I still play this game regularly. With my wife. Who's not a gamer. She has a level 86 Sorcerer. And about a dozen 70+ sorcerers.

I play from time to time. It's a testament to the game that I've had it since it came out and I still haven't run out of Barbarian builds to try.

I haven't played it either. What am I missing out on?
I'm buying the battlechest tommorow with some crappy disgarded Xbox games that I no longer play. If you think you can put up with me, you're welcome to join me online as I play through the(m).

I'll start playing this again if someone who isn't a queerbo (no offense to the actual queerbos at RMN) plays with me.
My best build was my level 78 Druid werewolf with Bonehew double skulled; there was no loot transferring or trading or anything, so to be able to go into Act IV Hell and survive (for awhile, anyways) was pretty awesome.
My usual build is a Fanatic Avenger with some sort of manasteal and a lifesteal weapon. I always wanted to play with a high-level Defiant Defender (holy shield/shield bash) to combine our mighty auras.
My FAVOURITE build was Wendel the Retarded Barbarian, who used only warcries. The first time I built him I was able to solo NM Act IV using only war cries as my attack thanks to two wizardspikes. Yeah, he was ridiculous.
I stopped playing because it effectively becomes about getting the right items for your build and not so much about actually playing the game with friends. This is usually a result of certain builds being WAY BETTER than others and certain spells being totally useless other than for synergy (I know, I'll use Firebolt on them!). Got a bit boring, that.

I played it for about an hour and got bored, turned it off. I just can't get into these style of rpgs for some reason.
