Whenever I play RPG Maker 2K3 in full screen it looks like this:

When I play windowed it is fine. (I haven't tried other people's games windowed so not sure if it fixes them too. I am assuming it does.) Does anyone know what is going on because I tried everything I could think of.

EDIT: Also I can't play music while in the editor nor does music play when I run the game.

Go to your Master Volume Settings and make sure SW Synth is not muted and is all the way up. If you can't see SW Synth, click "options","properties" and make sure the SW Synth box is checked.

As for the screen, Im not sure. Try reinstalling RM2k3.

Oh thank you, I remember on my old computer the SW Synth would mute randomly for somereason. I did reinstall 2K3 but it didn't help but window mode works. I'll just play in window mode until I find the solution. Thank you again.

Most likely your video card or its drivers can't handle rendering a resolution of 320x240, which is ridiculously small by today's standards.

EDIT: Barring that, did you fiddle with the monitor's screen controls to see if the image was just being rendered off-screen?
yeah i get flickering when i use 320x240 resolution. it is never a good idea !!

i far prefer playing windowed. against a black desktop. 640x480 windowed looks great for rm2k3, i think.

Should this be the case, perhaps a new graphics card for your computer?

Also, my computer will also mute rm2k3 music occasionally, when I udes to use them. I also had to go into volume control and increase the Synth volume. Does this mean I have an old computer?

Not really. If you use Windows Media Player to play a MIDI and pause the song, the player will automatically lower the SW Synth all the way down. So if you pause a MIDI, then close the player SW Synth will stay down until you manually increase it again.
