But about this topic: If the photo Feld posted was really you, then I want to tell you what it reminded me of: Steve Urcle from ''Family Matters''. I hope you know him. He's a complete nerd. BUT what happens if he gets in that machine? He transforms into that amazingly sexy Stephane. ;-d And it is still the very same actor!
To get to the point: It is indeed all about the dressing, style, clothes etc. If you say confidence and courage to make the first step is really not the problem, then you have damn luck, because to change your style is not as hard as to learn the confidence I think.
In my opinion first of all get rid of these glasses. Glasses for men always suck. (I hate to wear mine by the way, since it changes me from Tom Cruise into Bill Gates... thank God my eyes are not very bad, just a little).

I didn't see the first pictures by the way. The dressing is not that bad, but those glasses.... >.< I would also erase the beard above the mouth, but make sure the one below it keeps, otherwise you could look like a lil kid and that ain't no good.
