ALTELIER IRIS 3

Okay so I was Christmas shopping for my cousin and found a nice little shop that sold/rented second hand games and found a copy of this game on sale ($AU26!). I figured 'why not?' and picked it and a copy of Suikoden V up (for my cousin $AU30!!). Brought it home, promptly forgot I had it.
Yesterday I was bored stiff and (currently being ill X.x) decided to give it a go. It started off a bit meh, but after an hour or so I am well and truly hooked. It's just so cute~ and though it falls prey to the anime character syndrome it is somehow fun to play. Sure the voice acting is a bit odd in some places and inflections at times are a bit... eh... it's not that bad. And it's just fun to play.
Anyone else played this one? (I had no idea when I picked it up that it was related to the Altelier Annie (DS) game which I think is a bonus). Are the other two as good or better?

I've only played this game in the series. It has some interesting ideas and it's a decent guilty pleasure when nobody is watching, but it's only good like once a month. There are only five dungeons in the game... you just go through them about a hundred times each.
It's also really easy. :<

My cousin thought the first one was a bit of a hidden gem, but I saw someone playing number 2 and it looked pretty bad.
Atelier Iris 3 brought in a lot of changes from the first 2 games, and IMO it didn't quite work. But it was a good testing ground, because they got what they were trying to do in AI3 right in Mana Khemia and improved even further in Mana Khemia 2.
I'm happy i have a bunch of these "hidden jem" games. I've got Atelier Iris 3, Mana Khemia, Ar Tornelico, and some others i can't recall, but I havn't even played one yet! Too much money, not enough time...
