FAVORITE RPGMAKER GAME?
Posts
I've barely had any activity around here lately... but anyway, what's your personal favorite RPGmaker made game? I've been looking to possibly review a game or two, so uh... just wondering.
The best (well known) games don't need more reviews! Go forth and discover a new excellent RPG Maker game! Those are the ones that need more exposure and reviews so people can find them and in turn recommend them to others!
More on topic, Hero's Realm is a great oldschool styled make a bunch of parties RM2k3 game, Lost Scenario/Exit Fate show what can be done with some excellent characters and scripting in RMXP, and Voices and Visions is a short and sweet RMVX game with its own unique style.

My top five would be:
1. Romancing Walker
2. Deus Cards
3. Legion Saga (it's in the list)
4. Final Fallacy
5. The Chronicles of Haledos
I can go on further if you want. ;D

Legion Saga was definately one of my favorites, as far as I can recall, it's the only rm2k game I've ever replayed. It was that good.
A Blurred Line, Kinetic Cipher, Cyber Factor, Demon Legacy, Balmung Cycle, or Rise of the Third Power to name a few.
Man Legion Saga wasn't really a masterpiece but it was nice knowing that a finished game was possible.

Play anything made by SCF (Exit Fate & Last Scenario). I haven't seen any other games with that level of polish. Unfortunately neither game is on this site. Both can be found easily with a google search.
I can't believe people are still talking about Legion Saga. Exit Fate pulls off the Suikoden thing so much better.

Dhux's Scar is really quite amazing, although it's not for everyone. I also recommend Starless Umbra.
Hmm
Legion Saga 2(haven't played the first one, and didn't care for the third)
Prophecy: The Demon Kingdom (shame that it's on a bit of hiatus now =_=)
Hellion (I'm sure most of you know why)
The Cartographer
Tears of Reality(I'd like to right a review once I'm finished)
Shangri-La
V&V
Prelude/Crescendo of Identity
A lot of the games aren't on this site. I want to encourage the makers to join up.

I actually play the Way about 4-5 years ago and didn't really like it or appreciate the work put into it.
I started up again last night and I'm really digging it this time...but the the hero stay this Emo throughout the whole game ._.?
And I normally don't like 8-bit dungeon explorer type games, but I find Hellion really fun and polished, and very well balanced.

How close is Dhux's Scar to Doble Filo? I'm interested by Erilex's work, but DF felt like a somewhat sloppy rm2k game with higher-res graphics and extra nudity. :< Karsuman wants me to play it, but I'm not 100% sold yet!
I have a hard time trying to find an RPG Maker game that is even remotely fun let alone be my favorite. The problem with the earlier engines is that it's very cookie cutter and takes an extreme amount of effort to even differ a bit. However, Deus Cards and Starless Umbra comes to mind. Deus Cards was really weird and I never really understood the battle system, but it was somehow still fun.
I've been meaning to play Starless Umbra more, it had the minigames.

I love the games Dragon Fantasy, but some of the RPG Maker games I played was Memories of Mana and Last Scenario.
I'm more in line with what GRS said. Check out some of the newer games (or older gems that haven't been found yet!) and write a review on them. Games become gems once they're noticed!
