Ok, name one short game that you find hard to forget. And don't think much.

Portal: Really awesome story with dark humor and excellent puzzle replayability.

Again, length has nothing to do with quality. As for RPGs I would like to see more short ones, because it'd be nice to see more 'completed's for a change. The only reason why a lot of commercial RPGs go for 50+ hours is just because thats what the standards are laid out for RPG products, if RPG fans find out that the latest Dragon Quest is 5 hours, the word spreads, and there is no sale.

However, for a free game such as Visions and Voices, it took roughly 1-2 months to make and had an interesting town setting. A lot of people happen to like it too! There's really no real good reason to make an RPG epic, (at least from a solo designer's sanity standpoint) but like catmitts said, people will do w/e they want. However, one of my favourite short rpgs is Half-Minute Hero (or 30 second hero). I never played the PSP version, but this flash version shows off a good example of the Majora's Mask time mechanic in an RPG.
