IN REGARDS TO THE SCREENSHOTS TOPICS

I think the main problem with the screenshot threads is the spamming. I have been on many rpg maker forums. People joke around. However, I have never seen such a site have some many members who are constantly joking. Joking is just fine to a limit. In every thread a group of members are joking in a topic which is spam.
post=118538this four page incessant whining is your community. we're not going away!
This quote caught my eye as well. This is true, for better or worse. Keep in mind I don't really feel strongly one way or the other about much else being discussed in this particular topic, but I want to echo that the above quote rings true for whatever comes RMNs way now or in the future.
That quote is geodude being an unhelpful smart ass as usual. And it actually really bothers me on multiple levels.
1) I have never claimed the people in this topic were not part of the community.
2) I have never claimed that they should go away.
3) It is an aggressive response for absolutely no reason.
Saying that, realize that the people in this topic are the vocal minority of this website. Anyone remember when I said game topics were banned in the forum? I got shit for months for that.
I can't believe I have to keep saying this, but I am not trying to kill the community. I'm trying to make it stop sucking so much as it has. Logic dictates that if we are doing the exact same thing as other sites and those sites suck, what do you think this site will be?
Maybe it's not so much the actions you take but how you go about them that irks people. Being tight-lipped and heavy-handed with the community you are building is a good way to alienate them. I appreciate openness, communication and explanations when things change.
So, to be clear, we aren't vocal about what you are doing so much as how you are going about it. For the most part, everyone wants the Screenshot Repository and pretty much agree that the screenshot topic isn't the ideal solution - it was just all they had.
RMN needs a PR person.

I'd be fine with a PR person. The problem is that nobody will do it or keep doing it. Everyone wants everything but nobody will do anything.
WIP does a great job, and I'd much rather someone care too much about keeping dialogue respectful than let everything go to hell. And knowing there's something good coming down the pipe is enough to keep me personally satisfied in the meantime.
The reason the frontpage-refresh method isn't a viable alternative for screenshot thread folks is because I think people feel the same way about their comments as they do about their screenshots or games: they don't want it to get lost in the depths of the site, they want it to become part of an ongoing dialogue. Having a popular thread attracted the best and worst of the community.
Looking forward to the repository when that goes online.

I think you were more community stuff rather than purely PR junk, kentona. Plus due to your schedule and REAL OBLIGATIONS, you couldn't be a total PR mouth piece.
I wouldn't mind a PR guy. I'd prefer it to be someone who is already within the site staff, or someone like kentona who was closely acquainted with it. SFLaValle or Solitayre maybe?
WIP has made it clear in the past that I am supposed to write reviews and nothing else. The occasions where I made announcements about things such as Release Something or the Screenshot Repository were technically me over-stepping my boundaries as a staff member. As far as the site goes I have no real power, influence or authority, and considering I've only been here a few months I am not going to pretend anyone knows me, trusts me, or cares what I have to say.
Soli's too modest to admit that he's a bro.
I literally felt like an asshole everytime I posted in the screenshot topic(and I continued to do so), because I would post pics of projects that I may never finished. I know for a fact I posted tons of different project pics in them.
Was this post of mine even relevant, not even.
