No I'm pretty sure there's an elephant in there somewhere. Anyway this is a pretty important topic so let's not let it spiral off into oblivion.
I have been watching the news for the past week.

The hispanic news are only talking about all the statistics of the people dead, but how many of them are actually alive?
In fact...
£10!!!
...Or $10 if you're from not here...
It is so awesome to see such unanimous empathy and charity for the earthquake victims <3 and big asspats to you Feld, and anyone else who has motivated another to donate.

If you're in America and want to donate in more ways than just cash, people eligible for blood donation with a type of O negative can check out http://www.redcrossblood.org/ for information on giving blood in their area. While the Red Cross generally speaking has a smorgasbord of blood reserves in different types, in disaster situations like these there are often thousands of emergency situations in which the patient's blood type isn't readily available and there is no time to test for it, making your O- blood priceless beyond measure for providing life-saving transfusions to those with the greatest need. Plus, needles are cool.
You know this donation drive is great and all but I think this Onion article sums up my view on the matter:

My wife and I have been sponsoring a child in the Dominican through worldvision for about a year now.

Counsidence: I'm Dominican!

My relatives in D.R. didn't even notice the earthquake happened until people were being rushed in for medical help.
We went to the DR for our honeymoon. Very nice place! Though it was quite warm and humid.
It's only nice near the oceans (because all the good hotels are there!), airports, rich people's houses, and the major cities. Other than those places, D.R. is full of poverty
(Removed for being a post completely unrelated to this topic)
