Let's see if I have un-derail this.

Let's talk about each robot master. Your likes, and dislikes (if you have any). Just anything about that robot master; let's start with...

Like I've said before, I don't like his head. I would've preferred Capcom to give him an actual head rather than making the blade his head. He would have turned out much better and would have been acceptable. I mean, he isn't that bad now, but that little improvement would have been good.
bo~oring

It's a robot with swords for hands (and a head)

To be fair that sums up most robot masters though
Well, I was just trying to un-derail this thing. =/
knowing the title of the book Blade Runner was based off = deep reference

Yeah...I understand what you mean now. But, even so, what would Nitro Man's purpose in society be?

On another note, I think I'll explain why I previously stated I liked this robot master line-up (and despite my initial negative reaction towards the four aforementioned ones, I still think this).

I think that every classic Mega Man game should be designed with some--not all--but some staple robot master concepts. These concepts include a fire-themed, ice/water-themed (or both), air/wind-themed, earth-themed, and electric-themed. It's quite obvious I'm drawing these themes from the elements, but I only think because the that's how classic Mega Man games started: Mega Man 1 had Ice Man, Fire Man, and Elec Man. Mega Man 2 had even more: Bubble Man, Heat Man, Air Man, and Wood Man (counting him as earth-theme). I liked the robot master line-up for both of these games and it made the games feel balanced. Mega Man 3--and onward until Mega Man 6--deviated from this formula, which is why I found the robot master line-up in those games unbalanced and uninteresting. I'm not saying that Mega Man's 3, 4, and 5 were bad games; in fact, Mega Man 5 is probably my favorite. I'm only stating that the line-up of bosses wasn't as "colorful" as Mega Man's 1, 2, and 6. Do you guys understand what I'm getting at here?

Mega Man 10 uses this formula: Solar Man (fire-themed), Pump Man (ostensibly water-themed, I'm guessing), Chill Man (Ice-themed), and Sheep Man (electric-themed). That's why I find the line-up of robot masters more interesting. Of course, like any Mega Man game, those four robot masters are backed-up by some nice, new concepts of the other four robot masters: Blade Man is a cutter-themed robot, similar to Cut Man, Metal Man, and Sword Man; Nitro Man is a driving/fuel-themed robot, similar to Turbo Man; Commando Man is a army/desert-themed robot, much like Napalm Man or Search Man (I find him similar to those two because is probably going to use missles or explosives like they do); and finally, Strike Man is a sports-themed robot, something completely new altogether.

Mega Man 7 and 8 do this as well, it's just not as noticeable as the other games. From MM7, Turbo Man is fire-theme and Burst Man is explosion and water-themed. From MM8, Sword Man is fire-themed, Tengu Man is wind-theme, and Clown Man is electric-themed. Sheep Man is the same way...he's a sheep, but is electric-themed.

So that's why I find Mega Man 10's line-up of robot masters very acceptable; it's very colorful and diverse.

EDIT: The only thing that Capcom seems to continuously use in Mega Man games that I DON'T like is the staple "shield" weapon, like Wood Man's, Jewel Man's, and Star Man's weapon (and it seems that Pump Man may have the same thing -_-" ). Seriously, those "weapons" suck...except for Jewel Man's; his is just broken.

It's pretty hilarious really and it's awesome that someone on the game's development team actually thought it up. When I saw that the sheep was electricity themed I thought it was incredibly bizarre, and when I realized why, it made my day.

And no one is claiming it's some deep philosophical reference, Darken. Just a relatively obscure one.

Geodude, I didn't see you make that reference elsewhere! You also get a cookie.

Chill man appears to have the same face as Tornado Man

Nitro Man looks like Turbo Man's retarded younger brother

Strike Man appears to have the same proportions and shape of Blizzard Man

... Yeah, Capcom kind of crapped up on the originality department. Still, I can't wait for MM10!
This thread reminds me of that Design a Robot Master thread we had a few years ago...I think WIP even wanted to make a Megaman game out of the top 8 entries.

I stand by this "essay" of mine. I'm having trouble guessing if you guy's are agreeing (or not) or debating it.
as a general rule of thumb never take anything I say seriously.

Do you have a link to that old topic perchance?
