MEDIOCRE ATTEMPTS AT HUMOUR.

AKA: tardis: the musical.
Some of my horrible songwriting. I've used many of the songs I'm going to record and post here in my various musical stand up acts over the last few years. Some of them go over great. Others, not so much. Expect, as the title states, thinly veiled attempts at being funny.
Note that these recordings are rushed and approached with a 'fuck it, good enough' attitude. Meaning I do everything in one take and put it up, good or not. I also don't warm up before I play/sing for these. Don't expect anything good.
Let's start off with a new song!
Dear George
feat. my speech impediment (although the lisp in the beginning is 100% put on)
Wrote this for my friend George when his wife had to fly out to Texas for her work. It's more jingle than song. I might add on to it later, I dunno.
And an old song...
The Popsicle Man
My friend and I wrote this for a band we were in for a while. The band was called Mortal Wombat, and we were absolutely terrible. This was our only original song.
Chiptune insomnia covers!
Onnette - Earthbound
Kuru Kuru Pedal - Earthbound
Terra Firma - FF6
Opera on the Moon - Duck Tales
Celery - FF6

I liked them. Hmm, I think Dear George could (don't know if you're still working on it) get a lot funnier if it went on a bit longer. It feels like it's pretty abruptly cut off just when it's hitting its stride. If you're doing it live, it definitely should be longer, at the moment it's about 50/50 buildup and laughs, that's doesn't seem like a good ratio for a comedy song... but the buildup pretty much needs to be that length, yeah. Just my two cents. Haha, don't know if you wanted criticism or if you were just showcasing stuff. Sorry.
"*sniff* beautiful *sob*" made me laugh, as well.

might as well turn this into a thing. 3am, insomnia, boredom, 3 minutes of recording = more a cappella earthbound music.
