I HAVE 1000 WII POINTS BURNING A HOLE IN MY POCKET...
Posts
...what should I get?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Virtual_Console_games_(North_America) (I live in North America).
I've bought 3 games so far:
Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Mario Bros. 2
Paper Mario
I also own SM64 and Mario Kart 64 and OoT and Star Fox64 (and I have my N64 hooked up) so I won't be getting them again. I also have the Sonic Mega Collection for xbox.
Some fun facts:
-I have never played through a Metroid or Zelda game (save OoT).
-I've wrapped Kid Icarus 3 times already (back in the NES days when I was a youngin')
-I like RPGs.
-never owned or ever really played a Sega Genesis or Turbo Grafix 16
I'm considering:
SimCity
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Breath of Fire II
Vegas Stakes (I loved this game)

SUPER METROID
Donkey Kong Country, for the soundtrack, and Sonic the Hedgehog 2, for Sonic the Hedgehog. Kirby's Adventure is fun if you haven't played it already.
Seconded.

Super Mario World is a must if you haven't already played it 100 times on other consoles/handhelds.
All three Donkey Kong Country games are pretty fantastic, too, if you weren't already considering them.

I've played SMW 100 times on the SNES. DKC I've considered. I've only ever wrapped the first one.
Like I said in the opening post, I have the Sonic Megacollection, with all the (good) Sonic games.

Kirby's Dream Course.
Contra III
Zelda 2 (best Zelda game, has actual difficulty. FYI, the music in the Japanese version is very different and strange)
Very very underrated fun game.

Any Zelda or Mario games are the ones that i would get.
Kentona: You say you have never played through a zelda game. Well, now's your chance.

Super Metroid is a really good suggestion. But you can't go wrong with Link to the Past or Ocarina of Time, either.
I can say this: I'm a huge Zelda fan, but I haven't bought Link to the Past yet (which I consider the best, maybe second best in the series), nor the VC version of Ocarina (I've already got it, plus the Cube port that came for free with Wind Waker, so no need for the VC version, otherwise I would). Super Metroid, though, I got as soon as it came out. Super Metroid is definitely one of the best platformers AND one of the best adventure games on any system.

I won't suggest it over Super Metroid or any of the Zeldas, but I'm going to make an offbeat suggestion here and say Wonderboy in Monster World.
It's a relatively simple game that few people have played, but it's still pretty fun. You can't tell from the video, but there's a minor exploration aspect similar to Metroid and the later Castlevania games.

These probably aren't worth it (500 points is probably too much) but Excitebike and Blades of Steel.
Zelda II is a nice choice too. It's very different from all other Zeldas and it'll probably take you ages to finish so it could very well be worth the moneys.

Seconded. My recommendations would be A Link to the Past or Link's Adventure. As for Mario, any you haven't already played.
The best part about Blades of Steel is the fighting - the loser of the fight goes to the penalty box! That's the way it should be.
I've played SMB, SMB2, SMB3, and SMW to death (but SMB2 and 3 are just so awesome that I bought them again).
I've played through OoT twice. In fact, I have two copies of the game (I inherited my brother-in-law's N64 and he had the game). It's an okay game.
I sort of remember BoFII...is that the one with Ox and Nina? Or was that BoFI? (or III?)

That was Breath of Fire 1, ken. BoF2 has the dog guy.
Get Kirby's adventure for NES if it's up yet. However, if you've played Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland for GBA, than never mind. (Nightmare in Dreamland is a remake of Adventure). Trust me, I loved that game when I was 5, playing our NES. Our NES is broken now, though..... :'(
If you have an extra 200, you can pool everything together and buy Sin and Punishment. I've heard good things about it.

Actually that was all of them!
