I'm not familiar with the character, so I have to ask. Is that supposed to be a... horn on the right side of his head? A horn made out of blue fire? Or maybe just some random fire swirling around him?
What it actually looks like is an anime sweatdrop emote made out of blue fire.

Actually, very nice use of line-shading. That sort of thing can be very tricky to do, since too much line build up can ruin the effect.
Anyway, here is a random CGed drawing from one of my in-game cinema sequences for my RPG. As you can see, I use Paint Tool SAI to draw right over the pencil sketch (SAI's vector tools are the best I've ever seen):

I read a tutorial/walkthrough on this amazing picture of venom I saw on deviantART (I don't have a link, sorry) and I remember the overlay mode being mentioned for drawing goober/drool/spittle whatever you want to call it. So, having drawn a picture of someone with their tongue out, I experimented!
I kinda like the result myself! XD

Hey, glad I saw this. I was going to make my own topic. :o
Just for starters, I really enjoy(ed) drawing but I broke my right wrist severely when I was younger(13ish?) and it never healed right so I lost any previous skill I had with drawing on paper/painting, etc. as well as stopping most future skill from developing.
But I did take to trying to draw in MS paint and similar programs recently, and liked using the mouse, it was easier for some reason, or at least felt like it.
Anyways, in this post I wanna show some of the stuff I've done in MS paint.
Critique is quite welcomed, and I know I suck at human anatomy. x.x
Incomplete girl I started, I'm really bad at legs, and her chest is pretty undefined. Not great with hands either.
This was the first thing I've done recently, had ideas about trying to make a small webcomic about a girl who could see spirits. (never got past this image, ha)

It seems I've been on a Lex kick lately. I guess he's the OC I have who's closest to Rin so drawing him feels natural after fangirling, however Lex is much older than my Rin/ Ao No Exorcist fandom and I have so far avoided contaminating it. I think.

as for Lex, he's rather cute but that tongue is a horror, makes me think of a slug!

That's sort of what I was pointing out : that monster looks 16, with a little kid's nose, nicely shaped head and cool hair, overall, rather "pretty" for a monster (exept for the hideous tongue!)
Firstly, holy crap you got his age right.
Secondly, that's more or less because in normal circumstances he's a pretty cool guy, and he hasn't properly started transforming yet. I did try to emphasize less-pretty things such as the shadow of his cheek bone and bags under his eyes, but Lex is harder to define as a monster because his actual monster form isn't human and I'm not confident enough to draw him mid-transformation, at least not yet.

No, i drew it off that photo right their same size. I was just on a drawing craze, so I drew my friends portraits off their my space photo. So basically I just looked on the computer, teh paper was pretty big, unfortunately I lost all of these drawings and my gay friends wouldn't take the portrait I was giving them so they ended up getting smashed in my car.
But yah just a random photo I took one day, little dramitized
