PARTY SELECTOR IN RM2K3

Does anyone know an easy way to make a party selector in rm2k3? I know they have one on here but I always encounter problems with it.
A party selector? You could have a room where all your extra party members hang around and the player talks to them to swap them into the party. It really depends how you want to build it.
Is it possible to use a combination of common events and switches so like if a certain switch is on that member can be selected nd put the option at savepoints?

Uh... sure.
Nothin to it but to do it, hombre.
Teleporting to a new map with all your party members is the easiest way to do this, and it's not bad. There are several ways to do this. In my game I have like an HQ where you can talk to members and either get them in or out of your party. It's basically the same thing.

You can also do this from a custom menu, using pictures... whatever. Tell us exactly how you want it.
I've always wonderd if you could make it so you can select them from the menu but that's probably hard to do right? I would like it that way. As for the HQ thing I was making a game that had that because it was mission based until my computer broke and I lost it. but the game I currently working on is a traditional style rpg not mission based. Since I haven't a clue about how to make it be accessable from the menu I guess a room would be the easiest but what's the best way to go about it just make said room on every map?
If you want it to be excessable from the menu, you're gonna have to make the menu out of events, too!
That's what I've been doing for my game. It's an extremely long process O_O

A good game that did this, in my opinion, is Wilfred, The Hero. If I can find it again, I would supply a link for you...

EDIT: Found it! brandonabley did a good job making an event based menu. You should check it out if you're interested in doing that.

Ok, here's what you should do:

Seems like you're using savepoints (I hate them, but that's your choice). When you reach a save point, have two options: save / change party. Or maybe more options, if you like.

If you select change party, it teleports you to a map. It may be a real HQ, or something like this:

An empty map with a panorama and all your characters.

After that, have an exit point to go back to your save point.

You'll probably need to use the "memorize teleport position" command, or something like that.

Another way to do this would be using a common event. You can have an item (something like a party changing crystal) that activates a switch. The switch activates a common event that teleports you to the party changing map. That should be about the same, except that you would be able to change your party anywhere, not only on save points.
Unfortunately you can't make it accessible from the default menu, the closest thing you can do is create a item that will teleport you to a new map. I'm sure someone will walk you through it if that's what you want to do.

We've already have LWG...

Calunio's post was not there when I made my reply.

So does the memorize teleport position command like bring you back to where you were last when you exit the map because I don't wanna create dozens of maps just to change my party and I think I'd rather do it via the item than a savepoint. Also, where did you get that panorama that looks really cool
You have to make it so that the savepoint memorizes your position, then, when you exit, the exit event should have a "Recall to location" if that's what it's called...

I hate not having RPG Maker in front of me... I can't give good details...
Meh that's ok. I started out with rpg maker vx and I could always use party selecting scripts with that but for this particular project I wanna use rm2k3 so that's why I'm seeking advice on how to do this.
Lol I started in XP then VX then 2k3

RPG Maker is a great engine for non-coders. :D

Anyways, if nobody gives better advice before 3 (-4 GMT) then I'll have to look into RPGM.
