FACEMAKER?

Alright, so in addition to the whole mapping thing, I'm also toying with the idea of using Facemaker in conjunction with Famitsu Sprite Maker, however whenever I import the faces I make, due to some sort of transparency glitch or something, even though I make the background color transparent, even when I preview I still get a distinct colored line around the hair and face of my characters. So I opted to just put them in with the light blue background, is that ok? Or is that a no-no.
Facemaker is really bad. Like, really bad. Not only do the actual facial expressions suck but they literally all look the same. It pretty much insults anime as a whole as it promotes every character having the same facial structure yet different hair and hair color (which tends to be a negative aspect of most badly drawn animu). There's nothing redeeming about it. You're better off drawing or hiring an artist to save yourself from the embarrassment of using such a resource. I'd rather look at below average scanned pencil art for facesets than ones with facemaker.

tldr: don't use facemaker, please
Haha. See, now that is exactly why I asked in the first place, thanks.Unfortunately, I don't want to use the base face sets, any good places to find some good resources?
I think that, whatever facemaker you use, you will come to the same problem.

One thing you can do is use Photoshop or GIMP and make the faceset transparent there and saving it as a PNG... (I agree with Dark that you shouldn't use facemakers, tho... Hate em...)

Or you can ask someone to make them for you...
Or don't use facesets at all. There are plenty of other ways to notify the player which character is talking.

Especially because about half the time when facesets are used you're still gonna have

"Character:
Dialogue"

In the message box anyway. I know I'm guilty of this.

I think writing the name of the character AND using a faceset is completely pointless.

*name box*
Player: "Who the fuck is Moe?"

*faceset*
Player: "Who's that ugly shit?"

*both*
Player: "Okay, so the ugly dude's name is Moe."
*name box*
Player: "Who the fuck is Moe? Oh wait the one who was introduced either visually or socially."

also who the fuck is player?
Ok, not completely pointless.
Woah wait, you can have nameboxes? Well that'd be great. Because I can make sprites no problem at Famitsu. IS it like a script addon? If so I'd really appreciate a link or a reference etc.
And jeez, didn't think I'd started such a large forum last night.
It's not really a namebox, you just write the name of the speaker.

You just write the name of the speaker.

You could have nameboxes if you use a custom graphic for message boxes.
Yah I did some searching around after I posted that, I'm gonna use a script I found. Already got it working.

Yanfly ftw.
Good on you :). Better than those horrid Facemaker facesets. Gives me the shivers thinking about them.

But due to Chuck Norris I'm not allowed to post them. It's against my religion...Chuck Norris-ism.
