IT IS FRIGGIN' COLD.

It is nuts. Freeze-the-balls-of-a-brass-monkey cold. -34*C without the wind, -52*C with the windchill. Last night, during the blizzard, visibility was around zero (could barely see across the street). Last time it was this cold (a few years ago) the wheels of my car fell off (story for another time).

Crazy thing was, two days ago it was around -1*C -- snow was actually melting.

Plus, a water main burst near our house last morning, so we had no running water until around 9pm last night. Ugh.

Of course, I'm at work now. Work never gets cancelled on account of cold (We did get to go home early yesterday, though).

What kind of temperature extremes have you experienced (specifically, cold ones)?
It's similarly cold in my area right now. What's awesome is that it's cold enough where the temperature numbers in Fahrenheit and Celsius are about the same.

What's awful is that it was 40 degrees F yesterday (above freezing), and rained all day and evening. When the temperature plunged about a full one hundred degrees overnight (!), a massive amount of ice formed -- my car doors were sealed shut this morning and the drive to work was extremely harrowing.
Yeah, it is strange.

For all of you still stuck in the 1800s and the Imperial system of measurement, -34 is around -29*F, and -52 is around -61.5*F
Not -52, but Calgary hit -40 or so yesterday, and -35 today after a barely cold Autumn+Winter.

I barely left home yesterday, the trains were delayed for an hour because of the cold. Now, today... argh...
WOW! It dropped considerably here, but hat was like, from +4C to -7C, and thats cold to me, so how you live in -50C, I will never know. Glad to be living in B.C
Heh, I live in Calgary too. I think we went down to -46c with the wind chill. Probably -32 or 33 without the wind. I was running to catch the train, and just running for a couple seconds felt like I was near frost bite. My mustache was white, and my nose hairs were frozen. Wicked.

EDIT: Currently in Calgary, it feels like -40 with the windchill. I must be getting used to it, I just walked home for 20 minutes or so, and I hardly felt a thing. I was pretty layered in clothing. I also still managed to smoke a cigarette.

Our temperature also dropped rapidly. On saturday, it was around 0c, and I was playing paintball. The next day was below 30c, and I wouldn't even leave my house. :(
I have just gotten back from my trip to Australia and all my skin at the back of my neck and down my back is peeling. This is due to the intense heat while watching the tennis.

(i didn't wear a shirt ;D)
Damnit where's global warming when you need it? :P

It's pretty cold in Dallas.
"-34 C and Blowing Snow, Feels Like -52 C"
"It's a great day to look for a new job in Regina. Click Here."

If I were in a place where it were -60, I wouldn't get out of bed that day. It's never dropped much below zero (um, -20 C?) here in Florida.

It was 73 degrees today in Tampa Bay. Though I'm sure the tables will turn in a month or two...
... Man, I'm cold when it's positive 60 degrees!
It's funny, because it is a great time to look for a job in Regina. We're booming right now. Line cooks at East Side Mario's are being offered $3000 signing bonuses.

And it's warmed up a lot! It's -26*C now (though it's -40 with the wind chill).

Pretty much everywhere in America, employers have the attitude that they should not be grateful for your work but that you should be grateful that they were willing to hire your sorry ass (PS you are completely replaceable so don't get cocky or ask for a raise).

That's when I roll down the windows!

Also, there's a bit of a labour shortage, esp. for "unskilled" jobs like fast food and retail. Everyone is hiring! Unemployment is at like a 30 year low.
Since I never got a chance to post Tuesday (Fuck you too Shaw), I'd just like to say it got cold enough that my entire beard froze. That was a first... (the worst I've gotten prior is the mustache got some ice, but never the whole thing)

I'm just happy the worst of the cold snap is over. Sort of. -30 tomorrow, but I'm really not interested in going to class tomorrow.
Wisconsin has been well below 0 degrees Fahrenheit for a week or two, and there's always a strong wind. Some days the wind chill is -30 F or more (at that point F and C are roughly equal). Lately during my walks to class I've wrapped my face in my scarf. Even then, I have taken detours through the supermarket to warm up, and even then I have gotten frostbite on my earlobe. I also keep slipping on the ice :( It's pretty sick that this huge cold spell hits right before winter ends.
After -30*, temperature becomes pretty much meaningless (except to increase my post count).
I never really mind the weather being freezing. I have the kind of job that makes you want to go to work.
Celsius and Fahrenheit are the same at -40. It was on Fresh Prince, and you should all know it because of that.
Today it was a nice day. It was pretty cool with a nice breeze. absolutely perfect.
