ANY FANS OF SURVIVOR?
Posts
I've been wanting to host an online Survivor game since my back-to-back performances in the Star Wars Fan Club, in which I made final two and final six respectively.
Hosting a Survivor: RMN would make me such a happy panda: you have no idea.
Challenges would be based mostly in the RPG Maker. Immunity challenges would be week-long affairs, and smaller reward challenges would be held once a week as well. Every Saturday would be a tribal council, in which one person is voted out. Those with immunity cannot be voted out for that week. 14 or 16 players would be ideal, though as few as 10 is possible. The initial two tribes will eventually merge, and the final two players will plea their case to a jury of the other contestants.
Prizes? Not sure. The ones I played didn't have any sort of reward, just bragging rights.
The RPG Maker challenges would be VERY, VERY simple: probably team (and later individual) contests regarding 20 x 15 maps, single boss battles, single cutscenes, etc. Reward challenges will be smaller and unrelated to RPG Maker. Submissions would be unnamed and judged by a panel of 3 unaffiliated people.

Sounds interesting (better than the so-called reality show, which I have never cared to watch). Judging by your description, I wouldn't qualify to play. However, I definitely think I could be considered to judge. What would be the requisites for that? I like the fact that the entries would be anonymous.
On second thought, scrap this idea. I keep forgetting how potentially disastrous such a thing can be on a community. Especially with all the backstabbing and devious strategy that usually goes on.
I watch Survivor every Thursday. I will seriously postpone plans if they conflict with Survivor's schedule. When I was forced to take a night class on Thursday last year, I was livid. I know I can watch it online if I miss an episode, but it's just not the same.
Which reminds me, the season finale is tonight! Can't wait. Sandra & Jerri Manthey ftw!
You can't judge a show unless you've seen it! =P
Unlike most reality shows, Survivor has class to it. Even the most vile seasons (Cook Islands and Fiji) are tame in comparison to just about any season of the Real World.

I've not watched survivor much (I saw the first season and one half of like the 4th?) but it seems like a really easy show to fake drama and shit.
Did you know that they are only on the island during the week? On weekends they go back to a hotel (along with all the crew and cameramen and techs and the rest of the production team).
I find it too funny that the series is still being showed in America for ages now and had that much success!
Here they cancelled it after 1 season only, because the ratings were that damn low although it was shown at prime time... :-(

Well, I do suspect behind-the-scenes influence to help out producer's favorite Russell Hantz, but this season aside, I do believe that Survivor is genuinely unscripted, especially the early seasons.
Besides, faking it would defeat the show's entire purpose. Then again... that could be the fanboy in me talking.
Final 3: Sandra, Parvati, Russell. Sandra 5 votes, Parvati 2 votes, Russell 2 votes.
I don't see Russell getting a single vote, to be honest. Maybe JT's at best, but that's mainly because I get the impression that JT would rather kill himself before he votes for a woman.
But if either Sandra or Parvati wins, that would be amazing, since they are both former winners. Sandra more so, for she would have won each time she competed (unlike Parvati, who lost her first season---but probably would've made it further if the HIIs didn't exist).

That reminds me of the US version of Big Brother. They had to change the entire format of the show because the international format did not work AT ALL, both quality and rating-wise.

Proof pl0x.
post=138587My sister-in-law witnessed it firsthand in Thailand (or was it Phillipines? Somewhere in east asia) when she was there for a few months. They took a day trip to a resort and whoa there was Survivor crew & cast! She talked to the locals and they confirmed that they came every weekend while they filmed the show.post=138546Proof pl0x.
