As Chaos says, any time is fine! If you need the links to the previous topics, just check the first post of any topic or the original topic itself. I'll try to keep them all together.

Oh and if anyone has any prompt ideas, post them in the original topic. Thanks!

Halibabica, I know that the point of this is to share our work and such, but I feel the need to ask you anyway. There is a point in one of my newest games (not up yet) where you piece would fit perfectly, can I use it?
Well...it's not technically mine, so it's not my position to say yes or no. If you have no problem with borrowing music from commercial games, go right ahead!

Thanks, I'll check it out on the web to see if I can!

@chaos and Liberty: Thanks a bunch guys!
I am going to use good ol' midi. It sucks thinking that some pieces may sound like crap depending on your sound card, but I'll use those that I consider better anyway.

Music is the easiest part to me. I found a lot of great RPG tracks in some obscure japanese sites whose name I couldn't even read, and I only have a hard time deciding which ones to use.

You can hear some bits on this video. Careful with the volume, I messed up the recording and it's too high.

Actually one thing I've been thinking about is the technique of using music to convey mood. Like, certain games condition you to feel a certain way once a certain track starts playing. Prime example; The Jaws of Ice from Xenogears.

This dude is absolutely right. Throughout the game, every single time you hear this track

-Some shit was about to go down
-You were about to hear about something crazy/fucked up/horrifying
-Citan, the games resident mindblowing information bomb dropper was about to do what he does best and blow your mind
-You were about to see something fucked up
-Any combination of the above at the same time or in rapid succession.

By the middle of the game, this track has successfully Pavlov Dogged the shit out of the player into associating fucked up shit with this track. I think this is a suburb example of music conveying emotions and accompanying a narrative, because it has a specific purpose and it does what it does well.
