WHAT WAS THE LAST FILM YOU WATCHED?
Posts
I love those Airplane movies. Probably my favourite slapstick movies, followed by Naked Gun, Police Academy, and Hot Shots.
edit:
There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

Brooklyn's Finest. It was kind of confusing at first, but it cleared everything up near the end. Was pretty good. Kind of unusual for me, since I mainly watch "party movies", like Action/Comedy stuff.
Well, first I watched Gozu (from Ichi the Killer's Takashi Miike), which had a few WTF moments.
Then I watched That's Just Wrong, which had nothing but WTF moments.

I liked a few parts of Gozu but when it comes down to it that movie was boring as hell.
Watched Ivan's Childhood and it was very good. Loss of innocence and war and all that.

Agree with you on the boring part. The individual scenes were more like separate "sketches," held together with a flimsy plot. Of course, having all of the dialogue improvised may have had something to do with it. Loved the yakuza attack dog scene, though.
I've been meaning to see Ivan's Childhood. You might like Waltz with Bashir.
Watched Gasland tonight. An interesting account of the natural gas industry's practice of hydraulic fracturing, and the possible repercussions.
There's an interesting scene where a guy lights his tap water on fire.

Some say it comes from naturally-occurring methane from bacteria in the water well, but the homeowners imply that it started after the nearby drilling had begun.
Here's the industry rebuttal of the film.
And the filmmaker's response (.pdf).
In any case, get the facts and draw your own conclusions.

BD: Ya ya I've got Waltz but haven't had the chance to watch.
Paprika. The cheap used copy I bought cut out the last ten minutes, but it was good before then!

cut out the last ten minutes
That sucks. I ought to watch it again, it's a great follow up to Paranoia Agent.
EDIT: Shit, I didn't know Satoshi Kon died last month. :(
obligated is such a horrible word it is clumsy and stunted like a toddler
obliged is 100% of the time the better word
