LEVELING UP
Posts
Saw a thread like this on another forum I'm on, figured it might apply here well.
It dealt with the concept of 'leveling up' personally. The example given in the OP of the original thread was losing 200 pounds over a year and how the dude felt he'd leveled up in life.
I have a similar story- I tend to be kind of a musical shut-in when it comes to my primary instrument, the drums. I don't suck, but most people don't know that because I rarely play in public. Singing or playing the guitar in public are easy. Drumming? Not so much. I'm pretty self-conscious about it. Or rather, I was, until this past friday. I played the drums in front of a bigger audience than I ever have- around 200 people. Not with a band either- I did a solo on a talent night thing. It was pretty well received, and while I haven't seen video proof yet, I think I did a pretty good job. The folks I knew there said I rocked it. So personal level up achieved: I don't feel so self conscious about my playing!
What personal level ups have you achieved lately? Any experience-gaining goals for the near/foreseeable future?

While I don't have any amusing stories to go with them, I've definitely become a much better public speaker and badminton player recently. Still a long ways to go, but it's nice to see improvements in these areas that I use to really suck at.
This topic makes me feel bad about myself.
If I were an RPG character in real life, then I must be suffering from a lot of EXP/Level Drain attacks in the D&D sense, because it's pretty much one step forward, two steps back for me.

When you play MMOs and regular RPGs too much it begins to take effect on you. Years ago when I was in high school, I almost asked "How many experience points did I get for this assignment?".

Reminds me of the time I moved my hand/pencil to the top of my page when drawing, to try and find the "undo". True story.
I try to ctrl+f what I read all the time, to no avail.
As for a personal level up, I haven't experienced one in years.

Ok... within the last two years or so:
-I got way more confident professionally. Because well... I started working. Huge improvement over the first year. Not just confident, but efficient as well.
-Huge improvement on my gamemaking skills. I got to a point where I feel "I can do it all". About... 3 years ago I was doing DBS with RTP edits.
-Bulked up physically. I've always been super mega skinny. I'm about 6'3 tall, and I always weighed around... 180. 5 years ago I weighed 160, which is VERY skinny. Today I'm 205. Workout and diet.
-Also greatly improved my capoeira skills, which means I improved my overall athletic skills. That's a lot to me, because I've always been a zero in sports.

Yeah, I've done that one too :/
- Very definitely getting the grades necessary for admission into one of the best universities in the world. To all the people who said I couldn't do it: take that, haters
- Uh...I've been growing a badass goatee in the last couple of days. Does that count?

facial hair always counts.
'tis often that i wish damnation upon my native american heritage for making it impossible for me to grow a beard in any time shorter than 9001 years.

I used to be chubby but now I've been mistaken for a long distance runner and my paranoid mother is afraid I'm anorexic. Also more comfortable about my sexuality and all that.
I learnt how to make my girlfriend cum in less then a minute.. dose that count?
If yes then im investing my stat points into Intelligence and Dexterity

I'm from Brazil... So I thought you were talking about kilograms.... 160 kilograms is A LOT.
Anyways, I feel like I'm Cecil the paladin, descending Mr. Ordeals. Since I'm really leveling A LOT.
2009: OMG I MET SOMEONE WHO LIKES ANIME, GAMES 'N OTAKU STUFF TOO! HI, LETICIA! o/
*friendship started kicking in*
Everybody: "You look like a couple. When's the marriage?"
I: I could start liking her.
2 months later I was liking a boy and being almost raped psichologically by this girl. And also I was learning to tolerate people's sexism. So, this time I leveled up for never creating faux love again, for passing
through the ordeal of what's right, and for understanding people. BRB, there's a lot more lol
I gained about 6 levels on 2 months...
