wait a minute what is up with the age of this am I a necromancer right now?

YOU ARE A NECROMANCER! But I'm so glad you did it because this is a good thread, even if it is a little on the short side! Money balance is always a problem for me. And bartering isn't so unheard of. I can't think of any names off the top of my head, but I know I've played several games that used either bartering, or money was dependent on selling stuff you found in the field.

EDIT: wait a minute what is up with the age of this am I a necromancer right now?

To be fair, there was a bot/spam post that I noticed on this thread (and summarily deleted) yesterday. So, it could be that you saw that post (either by notification, or by using the "recent posts" link), and decided it was a good topic to talk about, or expand on, not realizing how old the thread was.

*Edit: The Fallout series had a pretty good barter system. Like, sure, there was money in the form of bottle caps. However, scavenging the wastes, and trading the crap you find for things you'd actually use (mostly ammo and medical supplies) was generally how players "shop" in that series.

Probably Elder Scrolls games as well? I played a bit of Arena back in the day, and a bit of Oblivion. The barter system of Oblivion looked/felt similar enough to Fallout 3's. Bethesda may had just acquired the rights to the Fallout IP at that point, so, perhaps this was done on purpose.

It's not just Money. Skill Points face the same issue. I'm constantly adjusting and readjusting not only to maintain balance, but because I'm OCD about having a fixed maximum. I want all skills maxed to also be the max amount of attainable points. Basically Level 99.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Oh good, I posted in this topic 12 years ago, back when I was smarter.
