10. Guitar Hero
9. Samurai Warriors
8. Jak II
7. Jak and Daxter
6. Sly Cooper and the Thievieous Raccones (or however you spell it)
5. Ratchet and Clank
4. Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves
3. Star Wars Battlefront II
2. Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando
1. Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal

Note that my parents are VERY strict about game ratings, so there are a lot of good games that are rated M that I can't play. Still, R&C ROCKS

You can live your life without M-rated games! The only Mature game I've ever played is Oldblivion, and look how well I've turned out.

That said, you like Jak II. What the Hell, I didn't know it was possible to enjoy that game any more than ripping your body parts off and eating them.

I would have been playing MA rated games when i was underage. :D
My mum was pretty strict on ratings. I remember coming home with FF7 - it had a G rating sticker for some reason. She wasn't impressed. ^.^ Funnily enough, it's now one of her faves. yes, she plays RPGs and simulators (digimon/harvest moon/pokemon).

I forgot X-2. Go girl-power!

I was old before they even had game ratings.

Hahah

Seriously though, how old are you? It's too bad that you're missing out because the current generation M-rated games are some of the best games ever made. Particularly on XBox360, big-budget AAA games aren't afraid to be rated M anymore because more gamers are adults or have irresponsible parents.
I haven't bought a game under the M rating in ages. It seems that now all the best games are at least at the mature age.
1)Final Fantasy X.
2).Hack//QUARENTINE
3).Hack//G.U Vol.1
4)Grandia 3
5)Megaman X Collection.
6)Tales Of The Abyss.
7)Jak and Daxter.
8)Kingdom Hearts.
9)Romancing SaGa.
10)Kingdom Hearts 2.

HOLY S*** SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY AGREES WTH ME!!!!! Ok, sorry if my post made it sound like I'm really mad that I can't play M games, but really, I don't care much. I have NEVER -- not once in my frickin' life -- played the full version of an M game. I can play all game demos (since they take out all the excessively bad stuff), but not full M games. One thing that doesbother me to hell, though, is that WAY too many people who are in my classes at school refuse to believe that games not rated M (or at least are a very violent Teen game) can actually be good. Part of me pities them, because they're missing out on some damn good experiences (Fire Emblem, Spyro the Dragon, Sly Cooper, Final Fantasy III for DS, Mario Kart, Zelda.... etc.), but it still bugs me when they talk like that. Oh, they also find it very hard to believe that I've never seen an R-rated movie.

Oh, and yes, I do kinda like Jak II. Honestly, it probably isn't one of my true top 10 PS2 games, but I find it to be a decent game. Not spectacular, but at least sort of fun. Definitely better than ripping your body parts off and eating them.

Well, first of all, I'm about 13 3/4. And yeah, part of me is a little bummed that many of the newer games are being M. Really high-rated games like Mass Effect, Halo, and GTA have to be all M. Granted, I can't even play the first two since I don't have an XBox or XBox 360, but still....

Ah well, I'm ok with it overall. And yeah, unfortunately, too many parents don't even pay the slightest bit attention to what their kids play. It's sad, but the truth. Oh, and I can't play first-person shooters either. I've tried and tried and tried to convince them to let me play stuff like Metroid Prime, 007, and Call of Duty/Medal of Honor, but nooooooooo, they have to be all overprotective.....

This is something insecure teenagers do to look tough. It's the same reason that a lot of 13 and 14 year-olds suddenly start swearing constantly. But yeah it's really sad. Someday when you are all in your 20s you'll be like REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERE A TOUGH GUY???? and they'll be like "yeah I was pretty stupid".

I think the real problem is that your parents are only barely paying attention to what you play. They are making judgments based on a ratings system and and not on individual content inside of each game. I think they have heard scary stories about school shootings and buy into the media's claims that shooters and M-rated games turn you into a violent killer. I guess, though, that it's a lot better than the crazy right-wing parents that refuse to buy a television or think videogames and Rock music are the devil's tools.

But I can't say that I know much of anything about parenting and maybe your parents are making the right decision! You are not allowed to watch R-rated movies, either, so at least it's consistent. It's hard for me to imagine a 13 year old who has been properly parented because at that time in my life I was literally not parented at all. However I think you should provide them with a convincing argument that not all M-rated or first-person games are actually inappropriate or outrageously violent if you'd like to play expand your video game horizons. For example there is scientific proof that playing touch football has much stronger and long-reaching effects on your level of overall aggression than even the most violent video game (it's because athletics make your testicles get all worried that someone else has bigger testicles so you start to produce more testosterone). The Halo series for example has so little blood in it that you'd have to look veeeeery carefully to spot it. I had always thought it was rated Teen. Isn't it?

Also Grand Theft Auto is not an offensive game at all. It (smartly) makes gang culture look so ridiculously stupid that after playing it you can't help but believe every gangster in America is completely retarded. It's a really effective parody and I guess yeah you command your avatar to do horrible things to people for no reason, but I think the whole point is that gang culture is about the lamest thing ever and the fact that gangsters *do* horrible things for no reason disgusts the creators of GTA as much as it disgusts the rest of us. They *are* only virtual people after all.
My parents never really cared about what the ratings of games/movies i played and watched. I remember when i was in year 8 and the teacher showed us an MA rated film.
The funny thing was she did get fired which was fair enough.

Lib, your mum is fucken awesome just for the sole reason of having played Final Fantasy VII.
It was called "The ark of Truth" or something along those lines. It was an old war based film that was full of swearing and had it's fair share of nudity. But another thing that was funny about it was that the teacher actually got the principals permission. ;D
Oh yes, it was wierd. But at the time we all thought it was the best school day we had ever had. ;D

Copy paste!

1. Final Fantasy X - This is a heavy contender for my top five favorite FF games.

2. Metal Gear Solid 3 - The absolute best in the series, even above the PS1 title.

3. Kingdom Hearts - There's no way you can ever say no to a Mickey Mouse/Final Fantasy crossover.

4. Shin Megami Tensai: Nocturne - My first time ever playing an SMT game and it is still my favorite.

5. Silent Hill 3 - If you beat the game, you get a costume that turns you into a magical girl, complete with a transformation sequence and superpowers. That is all.

6. dotHACK//Infection - When I first played this game, I thought it was a simulation of what online games were and I got the notion in my head online games must be fun. So far, Final Fantasy XIV is the only one that hasn't disappointed me.

7. Rogue Galaxy - I played this game for 20+ hours and reached a point I thought was the end. Then I found out I had only made it to the middle.

8. Dark Cloud - Sim City: High Fantasy RPG! I love it!

9. Star Ocean: Til the End of Time - This game really fell on its face when it turned out you were a video game character the whole time. Talk about a misfire. But the characters and the story branching was just so much fun!

10. Shadow of the Colossus - This game is just really pretty.

10: Final Fantasy 12
This game is probably the closest I'll ever be to an MMO. My more recent plays of this only had me up to a "Riskbreaker" as far as clan-title is concerned, but, I don't mind that.

9: Devil May Cry 3
This is a short-and-fun ditty. I've not tried anything beyond "normal" difficulty, nor do I really wish to.

8: Shin Megami Tensei Persona 4
I think I played Devil Summoner first, but, I don't think I would have bothered to play 5 if I didn't play this first. And 5 was pretty good. Besides, I don't think I would have made Matsumori Days were it not for this, so, I gotta show the game some love.

7: Castlevania - Lament of Innocence
The game doesn't get props for it's story, but, I love the whip combos. I've played Curse of Darkness, and that combat's good too, but, the traversal options there are worse there than it is here in my book. Dargiaaz, I spam the hell out of Hi-Speed Axe when it becomes available.

6: Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter
Well, okay. Let me get this out of the way. I cheat like hell to make the retry system irrelevant. I've never used it, and don't intend to. I love the combat in this game, and the ending gets me to tear up every single damn time I see it. Without fail.

5: Grandia 2
This is a pretty funny game when it wants to be. Eating at inns, campfires, or what-not is always something to look forward to.

4: Suikoden 5
This game takes what was good in 3 (the skill system) and 4 (support/extra party-slots) and refines them to put together among the best game the series provides.

3:Xenosaga 3
The first game was pretty good. Was a contender for this list, even. The second game was an abject disaster. The third game apologizes for the existence of the second, and closes the series with a bang. I sometimes wonder how this series would have panned out if it came out with the six(?) games they originally planned for it. Oh well!

2: Okami
It's unique artsytle is what initially attracted me to this game, and the gameplay is super-fun to boot. The game can drag in it's conversations/events at times, but, the journey is worth it.

1: Final Fantasy 10
There might a non-zero amount of nostalgia-based bias here, since this was the first PS2 game I ever played. I didn't seem to mind that the story was linear, and I certainly don't mind capturing critters either. I really appreciated CTB, and just how just-right the speed of combat was.
Why is this being resurrected?
Not that it's not a great console I still play on from time to time.

Because Kenton said it was to be resurrected along with 50 other top ten topics. He even unlocked them so we could post in them again, and on this site, when Kenton says jump, we say, "What? Why the fuck do you think we'd do that just because you said so?"
