A song I'm working on for my project. My headphones are crapping out on me so the mastering sucks. That and it is a Work In Progress.
Constructive criticism is welcome.

Consider building around phrases more. This track has a tendency to sort of float along without any beginnings or ends to phrases. Also, you might want to rewrite some of your melodic notes to fit better in the chords that you put below them. (Be more aware of which notes are dissonant and consonant, and try not to put the dissonant notes on beat one, or if you do, immediately resolve it to a consonant note).
The thing I would suggest is adding another part somewhere. I mean, it has dynamics and what-have-you, but it follows the same progression throughout the whole song, so I think another chord progression somewhere would help.
( Take my advice with a grain of salt, I'm no expert. Listen to DigitalMonk, though, I've heard that dude's stuff, he's awesome)

Thanks for the advice! I'd never heard of the concepts of consonance/dissonance before. That should help me out a lot, not just with this peice, but all my music.
I'll post an updated version of this after I smooth out a few more things in it and redo some of the parts.

also, don't be afraid to start fresh with your songs. Some people (I used to be like this) tend to fuss over one song and continually try to "fix it" but the best way to get better is just to keep creating new things. For example, I've been working on an original OST recently and I'm just starting to learn how to use electronic music. So far, I've completed 1 track and am almost done with the second. How many electronic songs have I composed inbetween there? Maybe 5-10.
Also, whenever I play piano, the thing I do more than anything else is improvise. Just keep making new new new things. It's the same with any art. Sculptors (when they're learning at least) don't create one piece and then think "hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..............." They just keep going and create, create, create.
Looking forward to hearing what you've got coming though!

There's another thing I'd like to add... listen to a lot of different types of music. You gotta get your ideas from somewhere, right? May as well be diverse about it.
For example, I'm working on an OST( don't ask me how that happened, but it did and I'm going ahead with it. fuck what anyone says, I'mma do it and I'mma giver all I gots), and I was going to write an overworld theme. But... didn't have any ideas. I was pissed. So I went, took a break, listened to some music, and I was listening to this ska band called the Planet Smashers, then went " hey... a ska guitar pattern( READ: simple major chord voicings played on off-beats) might be cool." So I went and came up with something like that( but with some cool drop 2 chord voicings instead. fuck I love drop 2 voicings)... then I came up with a melody to put overtop of it( for which I used a cheesy strings patch), then a percussion pattern... etc...
and the guy in charge of the project really liked it.
So you never know WHERE you're gonna get an idea from. So, may as well listen to lots of different music, then you start to get different ideas.
Although, admittedly, all this is probably a given, but fuck it I'm drunk

Alright. Lots of little changes. I tossed out most of the repeating melodies and re-recorded them (improv, you could say). Made it a little longer, and threw in some choir and percussion to spice it up a bit.

Ya, this version is definitely an improvement. For your next song, I'd suggest you do a very traditional structure just to get practice in that area:
2 measure phrase
2 measure phrase (repeat of the first)
4 measure response, ending on chord V (so if you're in C major, end on G major)
then repeat the exact same thing, copy paste. Then...
4 measures based on chord V
then repeat your first part
2 measure phrase
2 measure phrase
4 measure response (but this time, end on chord I)
I mean, feel free to do whatever you want, but you'd definitely benefit from this. Let me know if that didn't make any sense :P
And this goes for all musicians here, I'd suggest trying the above form, if only to learn a thing or two about structure.
