SO WHAT HAPPENED

i was going to write a longwinded 'why this was scary/why we're a community/etc' post, but i think it can better be summed up with my classic catchphrase:
i fucking love you guys.
please never go away again

Since 50GB of storage by itself really isn't that hard to find room for, why can't you overwrite last week's backup (besides that it kind of defeats the purpose of a backup)? Or is the issue the epic struggle to actually download that many bites? Or are you saying the site generates 50GB of NEW data every week?
holy fuck 50 gb a week?
I seriously don't know what to do/where to go if RMN dies. It's a neat place.

And why would you need to download the whole thing each time?
Seems dumb to download 50 GB each week when there is only going to be a few MB of difference.

That does make sense. We have gotten a lot of new people lately and a good bit of them are starting to release game demos (if that has anything to do with it maybe?)
So, what can we do to make it worth WIP's while to bring back the site, should it go down again?
I have a few ideas, including branching out with our games and events, and perhaps not acting like we're too important to play (and help out with!) each other's games once in a while.
I'm sure there are other things than I mentioned that we could do!

It is a major issue if Think Services decided to pull the plug, as if you even disregard all the locker space, the site itself is actually rather expensive in terms of bandwidth consumption. I don't see any easy remedy to this, which is likely why WIP is not too willing to find another host.......
